Posted September 21, 2010 how about we have a chat about songs that pushed the old sytems to their limits.. Nothing springs to mind. Got any more examples? Does anyone else listen to the 1UP music podcast that Ray Barnholt does, called the Sound Test? Its not a very long podcast and always has some great content. Star Soldier - Power Up Time Audio I've also discovered the Scott Pilgrim game soundtrack through it. The whole thing seems to be on YouTube and is well worth listening to. Its a mix of rock and some great chiptuned music. Audio

That's why his called Pokey in Earthbound/Mother 2 and Porky in Mother 3 - which is a quality game by the way.

Posted November 20, 2010 (edited) For those paying attention to the Gentlemen's mafia, you already know I'm using music (mostly from videogames) to spice up the write-ups. And such an activity reminded me of the excellent, excellent, Soul Calibur II soundtrack. Posted November 30, 2010 Here's a symphonic Secret of Mana medley: Audio Well, most of it; it's actually 17:40 in length. You can find the rest on YouTube, but more importantly it comes from the S-E sanctioned Symphonic Fantasies CD — it also features Kingdom Hearts, Chrono Trigger/Cross and Final Fantasy mixes. Posted December 23, 2010 (edited) Now related but still Audio how about we have a chat about songs that pushed the old sytems to their limits.. Nothing springs to mind. Got any more examples? This is an NES title from 1991 only released in japan. Listen to the sound did you ever think a nes could do this? Truth is its a chip that was added to the cartridge and if the NES had more life in it other games would have used this.. Shame really would have love to have seen more use it.
