I just read that spolier because I had to, you made it too enticing :heh: Ah well, no biggie.

That's a shame. It was a real OMFG moment. At least for me, I wasn't exactly playing the closest attention to the film with this bloody headache. It's just so deliciously nasty. :heh:

I'll try not to be so enticing next time. :D

At least I didn't give the details of how she did it. It's fantastically cruel.

Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey

I love this film, second time I've ever seen it. It's one of those charming family videos. And the voices suit the characters perfectly. Sally Field sounds muchos sexy.

One of my favourite childhood films there. Love it. Not so much the second one though.

D.O.A

Entertaining eighties thriller, a tad predictable at times but just interesting enough to watch all the way through, some decent performances too for what it is.

7/10

For a second (before I read it), I thought you'd given Dead Or Alive (2007) 7/10. :shakehead

Amusement

At the beginning, you'd think it would be a decent movie but as time went on, it was just so unbelievably predictable and the characters were so dumb.

4/10 (could have been 6 or even 7 out of 10 but it just got stupid:()

Mio fratello è figlio unico (My Brother Is An Only Child)

Only knew it was about some disagreeing siblings and it was Italian (but duh points) before going in. Had read the blurb a few weeks ago and picked it up last night. Story of a traditional (ie religious but broke) Italian family in the 60s and two brothers and their relationship over the span of 15 years. Tricky part; one's a fascist and one's a communist.

I think they handled the relationship really well. I was expecting it to be more "brothers are shit" but they kept it interesting. Plus the Italian word for baby is the best word ever (or at least the best word for 'baby' ever); bambino!

Best line: "It's good to have a fascist in the family, like a doctor."

Daft I think you'll like this one. Plus in profile you kind of look like the lead character. Although you may disagree.... But still, the sub on the first one is worth posting alone. (looking at it I'll downgrade it to "passing resemblence")

Funny Games U.S

I loved this film. :D I thought it was very well made and the acting was really good!

Everyone Dies!

I like the fact that it doesn't have a happy ending for once! :)

I'm was so annoyed when Noami Watt's character gets hold of the gun and shoots Peter but was so relieved when he rewinds the scene with the TV remote, I thought that was excellent as it shows how most of these films end with at least one person escaping which always annoys me as it does not always happen that way. I like the fact that at each turn you think there is a chance for them but it just gets shot back down.

I love the last shot in this film. The menace on the face to show that the same sadistic game is going to be repeated is unsettling. I felt so disconnected during this film and I think it when about what it set out to do very well.

I was really enjoying the movie and thought it needed a great ending and this film didn't disappoint!

Ice Age: The Meltdown

The story sucks but this is, along with the original Ice Age, my favourite computer animated films. Pixar films have a charm but I'll take the Ice Ages any day for humour and visual style.

Sex Drive (2nd viewing)

This was indeed better the second time around and the first time I loved it. It's funnier too.

9.5/10 (You do realise one more viewing of this movie could make it 10, lol)

I refuse to believe that Sex Drive is a 9.5/10 film. Sure I haven't seen it, but it sounds unfathomable.

The Shawshank Redemption

Never seen it before, and it was very good. Quite powerful and sad, but also hopeful too.

Both Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman were excellent.

Seriously dude....its a comedy. Do you genuinely think it should be rated against the same criteria as drama/metaphor/higher meaning/art form films?

It doesn't have to have a message.

It doesn't have to have amazing camera angles or direction.

It has to be funny. And it is. And its other elements add and build it up to (in d666s opinion) a 9.5 film.

Unless I feel it really can't be rated on the same scale as every other film, I put both enjoyment and technical quality of a film together, creating a final score.

I might put like a WTF/10 or something, in rare ocasions...but not really.

I don't really watch comedies all that much, and if I do, and they're funny, I dunno, I don't see how it makes it match up to films I'd give 9.5-10 like Terminator and Alien etc.

I wanna see Sex Drive but no one I know wants to see it so I guess I'll have to wait until rental.

Hellboy 2

Thought it was alright, acting was good enough (apart from whoever played the Princess, she was terrible!) but I thought the ending just kind of faded and didnt really live up to much.

All the creatures were interesting enough but I did kind of feel like I was watching Pans Labrynth throughout. They maybe needed a bit more of a different style than Del Toro used in that.

7/10

Fair enough. I don't really understand it to be honest. In a cinema you sit in silence for two hours....do you get scared of the dark or something?

(Teehee. Still love you. ;))
