Posted January 18, 2009 I've only ever been to the cinema one my own once, I had 5 hours to kill whilst I met a friend. It felt weird thinking about doing it, but it was enjoyable. Posted January 18, 2009 Brick I don't feel shame in admitting I found it rather confusing. A lot of the relationships aren't made at all very clear. The dialogue was excellent....from what I heard of it. A large portion of it is eccentric, spoken very rapidly and sometimes mumbled or slurred so it makes it very difficult to grasp what was happening. All this aside it was...still somewhat enjoyable. I think I need to watch it again. 7/10 The Bucket List Pretty good. Excellent performance from Morgan Freeman. Posted January 18, 2009 Going to the cinema alone is awesome! Although I did feel a bit odd when I went to see TMNT last year and there were a few dads in there with their kids and a 30 year old me sat on his own, but who cares? The Wrestler Mickey Rourke was fantastic in this. A very good film though some folk will complain about the ending 9/10 Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Watched both of these back to back last night. It is one of the Disney greats. :awesome: Also welcome to the Forums. : peace: Today I Watched: Liar Liar Jim Carey at his Comedy best. MANTASTIC FILM. I love this movie I have watched it too many times and it's still hilarious! The only problem was that it was on ITV 2 at 3:45 so they cut some things out which lost some of the comedy for me. such as HERE'S YOUR RAISE! but the middle finger was not shown. 6 Bears out of 7. And I also watched Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of both Worlds Tour. If you are a fan. (which I'm guessing it is only me) You'll love it as the concert is split into her performance and what happens behind the scenes which I found interesting. It is well made with a good choice of songs. so yeah! It's part of my "Feel good DVD's" Collection. If you are not a fan however you'll want to kill yourself. anyway, 5 and a half Bears out of 7. Posted January 18, 2009 What Happens in Vegas! I really enjoyed it. Incredibly predictable but enjoyable. 7.5/10 Snuff? Porn? Snuff Porn? I don't go to the cinema to watch porn...although, interesting idea. Fair enough. I don't really understand it to be honest. In a cinema you sit in silence for two hours....do you get scared of the dark or something? (Teehee. Still love you. ) Normally I don't just go to the cinema with someone. Usually grab a meal and make a good few hours out of it. Yes I get scared of the dark. Sadly I never think the cinema is dark enough. Posted January 18, 2009 I've been to the cinema on my own, was visiting a boy and had nothing to do while he was at work during the day. Although it was in Hatfield, so I felt safe in the knowledge no one I knew would see me, not that it should matter really. Anywho it's nice having company and discussing the film afterwards. Posted January 18, 2009 I've been to the cinema by myself on many occasions, and seen quite a few others who do the same thing. I'm not embarrased about it or anything, but if I tell a friend I went on my own, they seem to think I'm some freak. As ReZ said, if you're with a friend, you're going to be silent anyway, so it's not like you're missing out on anything, just the company there and back. Quite a few films out at the cinema I want to see next month, so I'll be doing several 'solo' trips to the cinema to see the action/drama type of films and seeing the comedies with friends. But still, the sub on the first one is worth posting alone. (looking at it I'll downgrade it to "passing resemblence") It's on my stupidly long rental list. I always remember one thing being cut out, when he's with the lass with the banging rack in the lift. The later speech is as follows: "Well, that's because you've got big jugs. I mean your boobs are huge. I mean, I wanna squeeze 'em. Mama!" Then makes the sucking motion. Yet when it's on early the only thing cut is the line "I wanna squeeze 'em". Mhm the colloquialisms were quite unique but Veronica Mars can be quite noir. This is a girl who was raped, her best friend murdered, her family ripped apart, her classmates ostracised and her boyfriend dumped her (so a mix between noir and teen...and I think in the second season they had more deaths than in 24 that year. Neptune's not an easy place to live). I'll top fanboying now. It's on my stupidly long rental list. They really need to put more than three levels of priority. A lot of people look like me. I have a lot of looks. T'is a good film. I enjoyed it. Its £5 on HMV's website, going to see if they hae it in store tomorrow (at that price) if not I'll order it. Posted January 19, 2009 Harold And Kumar: Escape From Guantanamo Bay Really good, much better than the first film. Despite the sentimentality of the ending there is much fun to be had, even when not under the influence of the films central substance. Posted January 19, 2009 My Bloody Valentine 3D It's taken me 4 attempts to try and see this movie-since it's been sold out all weekend at my local Cineworld. In fact the only reason I got to see it this evennig was thanks to my movie going friend knowing someone who works at the cinema who let us in. Sneaky-and very Handy It's full of gore, and a sex scene-with full frontal female nudity (Likely why it got the 18 rating) The 3D is pretty good and while it's your standard cheesy thrill ride horror movie it's still worth seeing. There's a love triangle, and a couple of red herring as to who is the person behind the killing. Possibly room for some alternate ending on DVD? Make sure if you go you stay till the end of the credits for an extra scene (Sadly I missed it-didn't find out till after I got home) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Posted January 19, 2009 The Wrestler Been wanting to see this ever since i heard about it...and that its got good reviews. The story follows a wrestler who was big in the 80's...in the present day to see that he is poor and wrestling in gyms and working in a supermarket..story progresses from here so not to give anything away. It gives a rather deep insight into the backstage of "ring of honor" and "Combat zone wrestling" which was quite interesting being a wrestling fan.
