I saw Kekexili: Mountain Patrol at the Warwick Arts Centre last night. It's the story of a counterhunt, told through a photojournalist, of poachers that hunt the pelt of the Tibetan antelope on Kekexili, a great Tibetan mountain range. There was a moment when four of the Mountain Patrol stood at the stars and one explained how in parts of Kekexili a footstep on the ground is more than likely the first. Which I thought was nice.

Shaolin Soccer

It was on Film4 last night. I stayed up to watch it.

I thought it was class, funny and well-made. 8/10.

Watched 28 Days Later for the first time (hush you, criers of "blasphemy")

8.5/10. Although if I was to rate it on how scary it was, 3/10.

Maybe it was just because I watched it with 3 mates and I criticised things all the way through (I really annoy people like that sometimes), but it didn't scare me at all. I liked it, I liked the believability of certain factors, the filming style, the uniqueness of the "enemy", the concept and the ending. It worked on the level of action/suspense/thriller, but not horror.

Still, great movie.

It isn't really supposed to be scary, as the Director said in the Making-of, it supposed to be more of an action-thriller-drama.

I watched children of men, which was utter pants. Then I watched The Departed, which is probably one of the best films I've ever seen. It's as good as Goodfellas!

Borat, 10/10.

It is as good as the trailer makes it out to be, but not better.

I expected a lot more, but didn't go away without a smile and ripped cheek muscles.

HIGH FIVE!

Is it possible that you saw children of men instead of Children of Men, because Children of Men was awesome.

I think I'm seeing An Inconvenient Truth with my friend Zhan bo tonight and then The History Boys straight after. I will more than likely fall asleep in one or the other because it was a particularly rough night last night, both for me and the hedgehog we found.

Undercover Brother -

No other film has ever dealt with the complexities of inter-racial community relationships in the USA with more intelligence. I'm not kidding. The fact it's also riotously funny is simply an added bonus. Featuring the wonderful David Chappelle.

8/10

Well, if you like politically correct trash with poor scripts, poor acting and very little back story or genuine plot development - then yeah Children of Men was SOOOO AWESOME

Just go see The Departed! Now that is a film!

The Boiler Room - was on TV last week, I thought it was a very good film indeed.

9/10

It was about a person who runs his own casino trying to make a better living so he went to work in the stock market, but started to get suspicions about the companys dodgy practices. Good acting and script, enjoyed it alot :)

I went to see four movies at the movie theater yesterday with lots of my friends, as it was half price all day. I saw The Butterfly Effect later but I've already rated that I believe (10/10), so I won't bother.

The Departed:

Awesome. Just awesome. Great cast, great story, always keeps you on your toes.

9/10

The Grudge 2:

What the hell? Really, what the hell? It was so incredibly boring, so incredibly pointless, and it didn't help that half the theater was screaming every 2 minutes, even if there was nothing "scary". Not that any part of the movie was scary whatsoever. The best part was when one guy got up and said "SHUT THE FUCK UP". He got some applause. Absolute shit, one of the worst of the worst.

I wanted to just go over and punch the screaming people in the face though. I regret not doing it now.. I knew it was gonna be bad, but not that bad. Damn.

0/10

The Ability to be Negative (roughly translated title of a Norwegian movie):

Pretty hilarious. Good lenght, very enjoyable.

8/10

World Trade Center:

Great and touching story, but it fails and collapses on itself as a movie. It's a boring version of Ladder 49. Gets a plus for Maggie Gyllenhaal though, she's always awesome.

All in all it was a story not very well told.

5/10

Strange but fun story line, sad at some points in the film but overall quite good. Adam Sandler was great in this. Good but not brilliant 7/10

I saw Borat yesterday, it didn't disappoint. Some of the stuff was more outrageous than I'd expected but that's what makes him funny. I would have like some more interviews/meetings with public though. 8/10

One guy behind me kept repeating jokes or saying the line before Borat if he knew it from the clips, that was pretty annoying.

Oh god, i had one of them when i went to see it, too. There was this guy that just kept saying why every funny scene was funny.

for example, when borat arrived at the hotel and thought that the lift was his room, the guy would say "hahaha, he thinks its his room, see!"

I wanted to eat his liver.
