Main takeaway seems to be that it captures the atmosphere of the original well, but retains some of its more archaic elements (even with the updated combat) and so is a fairly faithful remake? I like how you can explore the town. 🫣 So far, everything seems okay, if a little stiff in terms of Maria not moving around much in the cell. The original game does that scene in a more erotic way. Currently at 87 on Metacritic and 86 on OpenCritic: Some reviews and impressions: Kudos to Bloober and Konami! Following the massive success of the remake of one of the most highly anticipated psychological horror games—SILENT HILL 2—the developers are now focusing on a new game based on KONAMI's IP. CrowingJoe79 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago This may sound unpopular, but I have more faith now in Bloober Team for Silent Hill projects than Capcom does with their RE games, and not just remakes. I just mean as a whole. RE has been going downhill for ages. But whatever. I don't feel like bashing Capcom, except I will say this... RE8 was really dumb. It was like RE4 meets Dracula meets, a bunch of other stuff.
