It lives. They actually put a colon in the title, thank goodness.

Now we get to be the ones putting hair in animals.

That film is weird man.

It's still alive!? Bloody hell!

Who knows? Maybe it'll actually come out alongside the next film? Hey! It's technically timely!

Maybe the Unobtainium was the friends we made along the way? Either way, the game's been delayed :p

Shocker.

Not only did this get delayed but other games got cancelled as well.

Following on from Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora’s delay, the French publisher has confirmed that it’s cancelled four games – including the free-to-play Ghost Recon Frontline, which was due out on PS5 and PS4.

The Battle Royale, which was only announced less than a year ago, was pretty poorly received when it was originally revealed – but has had a handful of betas in 2022. It’s now no longer for this world. The same is true of Splinter Cell VR, which was announced for Meta Quest alongside an Assassin’s Creed spin-off a couple of years ago. It looks like the latter is safe for now, while a PS5 remake of the original Splinter Cell is still in development as well.

There is also this from Kotaku.

In the meantime, multiple employees tell Kotaku different Ubisoft studios are facing fewer and smaller raises for staff, less hiring, and various budget freezes. This new wave of austerity comes as many major tech companies prepare for a potential recession. Ubisoft's problems go beyond that, however, with beleaguered ambitious projects like Beyond Good and Evil 2, the sequel to a beloved cult-classic action-RPG, still completely MIA and senior developers on some core franchises jumping ship.

What a mess of a company.

Not long to go until Ubisoft gets bought out I reckon…

And if they don’t get bought? Then they’ll be closing up shop pretty soon…

They surely can’t weather this onslaught of failed projects and dwindling sales from their cash-cow properties for much longer.

Looks very pretty, even if it is supposedly just Far Cry with an Avatar skin on it.

Flying the dragon thingies has the potential to be an awesome experience though, hopefully they nail that.

Premiere trailer and gameplay overview trailer from today's Ubisoft Forward:

Quote

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a first-person action-adventure game set in the never-before-seen Western Frontier. Journey through beautiful, alien regions, meet new Na'vi clans, customize your character, tame your own banshee, and master both Na'vi and human weaponry to defend Pandora from the dangerous RDA.

Set after the events of the first Avatar film, you'll embark on a journey across the Western Frontier, a never-before-seen continent of Pandora, as you join other Na'vi clans to protect Pandora from the formidable forces of the RDA. Created in collaboration with Disney and James Cameron's production company, Lightstorm Entertainment, you will experiencea first-person open-world action-adventure game exclusively developed to maximize the power of new-gen consoles and PC.

I still don't know about the decision to go first-person, and sure it feels a bit like Far Cry, but dang, this game sure does look pretty and like it lives up to James Cameron's vision for Avatar!
