Well... I wouldn't get too excited, as they may have just updated the license to retain their rights to the IP, and Konami could just leave it abandoned for long enough.

The series ended up crappy over the course of several years anyway. I didn't really like any of the games after Origins much at all.

They should never have gotten rid of Team Silent. The games afterwards were mediocre, and kind of an insult to the fans.

I think that's also due to Capcom making Resident Evil into an action franchise. Every other company started to copy their style.

If the series ever came back, it has to be for the right reasons. I'm tired of this money grabbing BS coming from companies today.
