Does the island stay open for visitors with the Switch in sleep mode?

Don't believe so as going into sleep mode disconnects from the online service.

I need 2 wardrobes, and can't find any. Anyone want to help a poor comrade out?

Ah sorry, can't immediately help you. I don't think I have any "retail" wardrobes in the catalogue yet, so I can't order those for you. I can craft some, but I'm not currently playing the game. I'll probably be back online later this evening.

Your town open? I'll pop over with a couple.

EDIT: On my way.

Also manage to snag a Golden trout and Stringfish (and Koi), so I'm set for April.

Why do you need to pop over? I dropped two wardrobes by your characters feet.

Mostly posting this for @Ronnie as I know he liked the game but I do like this angle: "getting bored of twee happy cuteness, how about the exactly opposite?"

If anyone has a spare Stringfish or Sturgeon could I possibly take it off your hands, they're the only two I'm missing before March is up and as much as I try and find them I've not been able to.

Unfortunately you can't gift bugs or fish. Visitors can't pick them up either.

I assume you're crafting a lot of fish bait? It's really the only effective way to get the cliffside river fish.

yeah fish bait helps a lot. I managed to catch Sturgeon fish with it today:

I found that if you see a small fish that obviously isn't the one you are looking for, don't bother catching it instead just throw more bait and keep doing it until the large fish shows up.

I was really lucky with the Stringfish though,he just happened to be there.

Wow, actual music that isn't the same tune I've been hearing for 10 days! Nice one on the catch, I'll keep trying.

Yesterday, the game put a halt on my bell grinding. After my initial bug hunting session in the morning, the island was then hit with a thunderstorm that lasted all day. That being the case, I decided to try and spruce up my island a bit in order to raise it's ranking. I put a sign at the entrance of the island, I knocked up a little picnic/barbecue area, placed some kind of relaxing pond area, a flower area was made and a little area to chill out area for when on the beach. I also got a hold of my next villager. The whole style he had going for himself got a chuckle out of me so I invited him to my island.

Doing all of this has now awarded me with a 3 star rating.

Project K is complete!

The Switch's game data finally updated and I was curious to know just how many hours i'd put into the game. Yeah, I wasn't prepared for this...

The fact that i've been working from home for the past couple of weeks ( starting tomorrow i'm on furlough for a month ) has certainly helped boost the number of hours played. Still, I was surprised by it, especially when you consider I wasn't going to get the game in the first place. I imagine things will slow down a bit for me now though. The terraforming should be unlocked tomorrow and i'm not that far off from paying off my final payment to Nook. After that it's just a question of reforming my island how I want it and then start placing things in the right place, while keeping on top of the different bugs and fish that appear each month.

After booting up the game this morning, the extra visitor pushed me to 3 stars. KK, on the way. :)

Ah, look who's got the 3 star rating now.

And then there's me still at a 2 star rating, even with one more villager.

Hey now, I put some serious work into decorating my island yesterday. :p

Apparently I have too many trees though. Now I have to figure out which ones to chop down while maintaining enough of each kind of fruit tree, all while they're not bearing fruit. Maybe I'll wait until they all bear fruit...

Over 100 hours played. Villagers moving in at the proper pace. No BTTF shenanigans need. :cheeky:
