Posted September 29, 2018 Shite performance toda against West Ham. Nobody knew what the formation was at times and the players were all over the place. We played very defensively and conceded so early on, so that gameplan went completely out of the window. Hard to think of many positives from the performance. Generally, I think the vast majority of Man United fans are down. The football is negative, without purpose and there is just zero movement in front or behind the ball. Posted October 3, 2018 Steve Bruce has finally been sacked, it should have happened weeks ago but I think he managed to cling to his job because of the lack of defeats but the writing has been on the wall for a long time. I'd expect us to make Paul Cook of Wigan one of the main targets for the job considering the great work he's done with them but I'd like to see them give the cabbage a go considering the hard work it put in getting Bruce out of the door. Posted October 12, 2018 After all the rumours of hiring Thierry Henry with John Terry as his assistant, Aston Villa have instead made a pretty sensible appointment in Brentford's Dean Smith, with John Terry coming in as assistant manager. I was concerned when all the Henry rumours were gathering pace that we'd end up spending a fortune on a gamble (I'm sure Henry will be likely be a very successful manager but taking on a big club in the Championship is a pretty unforgiving way to start a career) so I'm pleased they've gone for someone who has a pedigree for managing in the Championship, especially so that he's done well at Brentford on a fraction of the budget Villa run on. Terry is a great addition, the majority of the squad will have played with him last season so he'll already command a lot of respect which will help Smith no end as he adjusts to the role. Sad news about our longtime chairman Doug Ellis passing away aged 94 though. Scotland were absolutely appalling tonight, looked clueless and shapeless as Israel dominated the game - why the SFA thought it was a good idea to give Mcliesh the job again I'll never know. Posted October 25, 2018 Man Utd got played off the park by Juventus. That first half was so painful to watch, and I think the only reason we did better in the second half was because they knew they could sit back as we didn't have enough firepower to hurt them. Cancelo looks like a really good player, as does Bentancur. Have to admire Juve, as they just seem to be able to build teams and rebuild whilst still playing good football and winning these sort of games. We couldn't get close to their midfield at all. The crash has happened but the condition of the passengers is still unknown and details have yet to be released. Looking at the footage, I'm not sure anyone would have survived. Posted October 28, 2018 It’s tragic. All reports are pointing towards owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha being on board, as well as potentially some of his family and friends, but whether or not other members of the board were present is currently unconfirmed. The BBC have even suggested that Claude Puel was aboard, though this has been contested by a number of sources. One witness on BBC 5Live: Quote The helicopter having just taken off was spinning round and round, and clearly dropping - it was just a matter of where. Two policemen saw this and drove and ran towards it as it crashed. It came down in a yard or maybe staff car park at the rear of the stadium - didn't look like a public car park. A woman was standing very near where it crashed and was in a state of panic and shock - it just missed her. One officer ran to the copter and started trying to smash the door glass to get inside, a fire was starting. The other officer was extracting something from his car - probably a fire extinguisher Within 20 seconds there was an explosion and fire consumed the copter, forcing the officers back. One officer yelled at the witness to stop filming as there are people in there (I assume he stopped but he didn't say that). Other emergency services were quick on the scene but the fire had already engulfed the copter. He hoped someone survived but it didn't look good. It doesn’t look or sound good at all. It does seem strange to me how long it seems to be taking to confirm exactly who was in the helicopter and their current status, and I can't tell whether that's a good or a bad thing. I've read some stories about the owner recently and they're great stories. He seems to be loved by the people in that city and has done a lot for the area surrounding the club, so this will be a huge loss if we do receive confirmation soon. I think the confirmation took so long because there was no formal list of the passengers, with it not being a commercial flight there wouldn't be the same register or manifest that you'd get on a commercial vehicle. They had to make sure they knew who exactly was on the flight before they announced details of the number of casualties and contact the families of those involved before going public with the information. It's a real tragedy, one of the few owners of Premier League clubs that is actually liked by the fans, I wasn't aware of all of the great work he had also done in the community in Leicester either - seems like an all round nice guy who will be sorely missed. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

But if we do end up as part of some super League then that's me done with them - it's not the same club anymore. The lack of consideration for match going fans is criminal. Very poor first half from United, but they came out and did a lot better in the second. Close game, but a victory away to Bournemouth with how they are currently playing and where they are in the league is a very good result. A bit concerned with how slowly we start games and it seems that the team only really start playing when they go a goal or two down. Can't keep doing that. Defensively, the team has to improve. Posted November 25, 2018 (edited) Something that struck me tonight while watching Match of the Day was United being on last (on a Saturday). Can't think of seeing that many times before, especially on a 7 game schedule. Depressingly its a sign of how far we've fallen. For the past couple years post-Fergie, us playing boring games and those low in quality kept us up the schedule because that was news in itself. Now it's not even news, it's the norm. We're 7 points off forth approaching December, and we barely deserve to be that high. Out of the League cup already, and living dangerously in the Champions League group. And there is no reason to believe anything will improve. There will be a great 'tell all' story printed one day about what's been going on behind the scenes since Fergie left, and how ignorant decisions and general negligence have turned the greatest club in the world into a laughing stock. Shout out to Arsenal. There's a team who were facing a similar situation as us (the exit of a long time manager and alpha at the club) but instead are doing really well. Say what you want about the moral character of the owners, but with just a couple clever hirings they have turned the team into an enjoyable spectacle again, and are giving the fans something to chear. Hilariously England are now fun to watch, which is mighty convenient, as there is some football I can enjoy. Crazy times when that is the case.
