I think I won every round as ketchup yesterday, so I can't say anything. I'll be on for some rounds now if anyone wants to join me :)

You can't join a friend in Solo Splatfest, unless you form a 4-man team and go into team mode.

yeah me too, i noticed Mayo players were better in general. Also, the American Splatfest results just came in and Mayo won lol

Same result for Japan, as well.

Awwwww yeah team mayo! A win margin of 51%-49% in both solo and team battles. Crazy close in the end!

How did everyone do? I only managed 15 games and had a win ratio of 9-6 and a highest power score of 1679. Finished as a defender and was granted a measly 9 shells.

Results went the way I expected, although it was tighter than I thought it would be.

I haven't checked what I got but I think the losing team gets 3 less snails than the winners.

Your rank plays the major part in how many snails you get.

Sorry, I meant that if you reach King/Queen you get something like 26 if you're on the winning team and 23 if you're not.

I assume this remains true as the ranks go down?

I don't know my exact details, because I can't get the app, but my Ketchup Power was like 1850-1900 in the end. I have no idea if that's good or not. Those results were so close, I'm worried that me helping @Ugh first aid rank up this morning might have screwed Ketchup out of the Solo point. Probably not, but it's certainly possible.

Traitor! :D What were you doing to help her rank up? Just throwing matches or something?

I think 2000+ is generally considered to be the most elite players. I had some shocking games last night, but made up for it with a few wins this afternoon.

I can't remember exactly so maybe someone else can shed some light on it, but I'm pretty certain had this Splatfest used the old score weighting from the first game, Ketchup would have won. The fact that it was just declared as "2-1" because of the three individual results (vote, solo and team) means the most popular choice is almost always going to be at a slight advantage, unless of course you believe "all the 7 year olds chose Ketchup" that people are saying on GAF :D

Nope, just playing matches on her file. She only got an hour to play yesterday and couldn't play today. So I was being nice. Bumped her from Fiend to Champion in about an hour. Team Ketchup just plain sucked.

I'll go tell Gaf that Glen-I is to blame and where to find him. That should boost our forum members up quite a bit. :D

I'm a believer of the kids theory when it comes to Splatfest results. Just look at the Pokemon Red vs Blue/Green battle. Red won the popularity vote due to kids having Charizard shoved down their throats for years. Kids would have instantly picked Red over the other options. Turns out Blue and Green won in all regions.

I think you can apply this to this Splatfest as well. I can't imagine many younger players picking Mayo over Ketchup.

No doubt there are Splatfests that destroy this theory but the Pokemon one always stuck with me.

Methinks the winning team should be able to keep their t-shirts. It would be a nice extra for defeating the other team.

Methinks some people are taking the results a little too seriously. It's nothing but a glorified Everybody Votes Channel after all.

Eh, I'll take the bullet, making me the most valuable player. All part of the plan and certainly not ad-libbed at the last second.

Still, I can see why Splatfests are such a big deal, the atmosphere is certainly impactful, especially the music. The Splatfest music during matches is astonishingly good! I've kinda been indifferent about the soundtrack here (Apart from Salmon Run's hilarious menu music and that Tokyo Mirage Sessions song), but Splatfest hit me with some amazing tracks. I wish that was the normal music really. I still don't give a toss about the actual results. They're just condiments! Stop dramatizing it! It's a little creepy.

Maybe next time, we can organise a group of 4?

I hope you don't think I was having a go. I'm not fussed about the results either. People get something out of the thing regardless if they win or lose. The more time you put in the more snails you get.

This is this the first time I've played a Spatfest to completion and enjoyed the new stage that was added. I wonder if this stays in the mix for future events?

Yeah, getting a team or two together next time would be ideal. There were a few playing it at the same time but most don't seem to visit the forums anymore so would have had no idea about people wanting to hook up.

Yup, I had fun last night.. Got up too late today to do anything worthwile.. Was just 12 point shy of being a mayo.. queen (that would be my pornstar name if I ever get a sex change and start doing porn). It's fun being on the winning team though :P. I liked the new stage for variation, though it's not going to be a favourite.

I hope everybody scrubbed their splatfest shirts.. I don't get why you can't keep 'm either.

Salmon run returns tomorrow. Anyone up for some games after.. 20:00 UK? 20:15 or something.

Oh, don't worry. I thought it was hilarious. I was more referring to the reaction on Twitter. Should have mentioned that.

Yeah I really should have checked the times better. I got up yesterday early to play but then the Fest was not on yet (so played some Salmon Run instead). Then I had to visit family/friends out of town the rest of the weekend. And I thought ah well, at least I can play some on Sunday evening. Boom! Splatfest over getting a whopping 2 snails. Better luck next time.

So jealous reading about this. I’d also be well up for a 4 player team next splatfest

weirdly the forum, remembered a post I thought I posted in here, but didn’t, but here it is anyway  still applies:

“The criteria for unlocking stuff is just ridiculous. Level 10 is too much to unlock 60% of the game modes; then getting b- for each of the ranked to play those modes with friends is painful... why be so extreme?!?!

Otherwise. The game is incredible, utterly  incredible.”

Stupid question but how do I find Salmon Run? It doesn't seem to be an option for me in the Lobby unless it's accessed elsewhere?

Do people not just press x and jump to the different modes?

I do. The Inkling walks too slow for my liking. :D

Never thought about that :P. And besides, I like the build up with the music when I'm walking towards the lobby.

Btw, @Hero-of-Time, do I have you in my friend list? What's your Switch name?

I don't think so. I'll add you once I get in from work.
