Monster Hunter Online (PC)

Im not sure how many people are still playing Monster Hunter in one of its many forms but i've just caught wind of that new Tencent developed chinese mmo based on the franchise going into Open Beta next week (December 17th).

 

The game does not appear to be IP locked but it is entirely in chinese and although Capcom have licensed it they are not helping with development. 2pcom have a guide on how us western folks can install it, im not sure about posting links to other places here but if you do a google search for 2pcom and Monster Hunter Online beta you'll find it.

 

Anyone thinking about giving this a go and want to come along for the hunt? I know next to nothing about the game save that its got Monster Hunter in the title and is free to play, it may well go the same way as PSO 2 and lock itself down to the asian market at some point so might be our only chance to see if its more hit than miss...

 

Just as a last note, there are few hoops to jump through to get set up and since its downloading from a chinese server it takes a long time.
