I saw a job offer for Nintendo Benelux today for e commerce marketing specialist for the My Nintendo Store. So that signals that they may start expanding here as well.

All those Platinum points just sitting there... expiring...the horror!

OK, I've been saying for a while that there's no point in those icons, because the Mii is the only way you can be truly unique, and you can't even use a frame or background with them.

But that icon is damn fine for second place!

I'm a big fan of them. I love firing up the Switch on a Tuesday and seeing what new ones are on offer. I do wish they wouldn't play on FOMO though and just add each of the new sets to a collection for players to pick up as and when they see fit. It makes it hard to decide whether or not to pick up the ones on offer or keep the points for something that may or may not appear.

For all these years, I had no idea that Platinum points expire. I also never payed too much attention to the psychical rewards you could get and just used my points on avatars, but since my points were about to disappear, I had a look at the store and ordered a bunch of random stuff.

I always check the Japanese Nintendo site for the stuff they add to their Club Nintendo and just general merchandise they make, because they always seem to make really cool or interesting things. Recently they added a bunch of stuff I figured some of you might like to see (these are from the merch side of the store rather then club Nitnendo but I figured they're just nice to see:

Ordered some tat since the icon rotation has been cack for the last while.

• Mario bag
• DAL bag
• Multiplayer poster set
• GBA poster set

Immediate regret that I didn't throw in more to get the balance nearer zero, but at least it provides some breathing room with no more points expiring until May.

No Mother 3, but here are your Earthbound Beginnings icons 

To make matters worse/funnier/waaaaaaaaaay more cruel, icons for Earthbound are due out for a week from the 29th, and for Mother 3 for a week from the 7th (March)...at least in Japan, don't think we've had full confirmation of what's going on over here just yet (at least at the time of writing), but I would assume it's the same deal. 

Which makes it potential even worse/funnier/way, way more cruel; are we really about to see Mother 3 icons drop in the West in 2 weeks' time, despite the game having never released over here?
