Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire

Recommended Posts

Why the fuck is Groudon in the water though? This sounds like a very ill thought out idea, fucking idiot.THAT'S EXACTLY WHERE KYOGRE WANTS YOU.

Maybe it knows Thunder Punch?

Knocking out a Kyogre with one Thunder Punch is always funny and satisfying.

I hope that thing about every legendary having at least 3 perfect IV's carries over though. Having a Groudon with perfect speed feels underwhelming in X and Y.

Have you played the original game? :p

I only remember Emerald, but even on that it was standing on a land mass its ability presumably created.

As for Ruby, wasnt it just chilling in lava?

That cave was in a place where you had to dive underwater in order to get into.

It had to get out of the cave somehow.

Surprised Serebii hasn't posted this in here already, new mega evolutions.

corocoro7141.jpg

Swampert got mega hench and Sceptile's tail looks pretty deadly.

Will X and Y get these patched in when the new games come out?

This looks interesting. Funny how seeing Ken Sugimori art for anything instantly removes any criticism I might have had for the design. The man knows how to present his monsters.

Also expecting porn of the chick trainer any hour now.

Why do the grass starters mega look... underwhelming? Though Mudkip is starting to look chooseable.

I've always thought Sceptile was underwhelming, period.

So lame compared to Grovyle...

Mega Swampert is so bloody hilarious! Like, Mega Manectric levels of hilarious!

Definitely choosing Mudkip this time. Despite Grovyle being my favourite Grass Pokemon.

Mega Sceptile actually doesn't look bad... But it's just completely outclassed by the loltastic Mega Swampert... Just...

Brilliant! (Plus swift swim, which is of course, broken :) )

Saying that though Grass/Dragon is an awesome typing.

Until it starts to snow and single snowflake kills it.

Yeah, but who would put a dragon or grass type against ice anyway? Sceptile will probably be faster than most ice pokes.

Saying that though Grass/Dragon is an awesome typing.

Because what a frail Grass type needs is even MORE weaknesses!

Sure, it loses the Fire Weakness, but it's got Dragon and Fairy to worry about! (And the aforementioned Ice double weakness)

Hell, I wouldn't even need to use an Ice Pokemon to take it down. Any decent Ice move is going to totally own it.

And with Poison moves actually being not complete crap, Sceptile is going to have a hard time here.

And it doesn't even gain any new resistances. It just doubles resistance to Water, Electric and Grass. Big woop...

Dragon typing was the last thing Sceptile needed. (Although it's nice to finally have a Grass/Dragon)

Anyway, am I the only one who is going to say it?

Why in the world does Steven have a Mega Charizard X? Yes, I know he only appears to have one. But I still want to know why.

I mean, I'm all for shaking up old champion teams, (assuming he IS the champion) but why?

Didn't he have an Aggron? Why not that?

Mega Mawile is a steel Pokemon from 3rd gen...

Even Mega Lucario would be believable for Steven.

NOPE!

MEGA CHARIZARD X! HOO-BLOODY-RAH!

While we're at it, why not give every champion one? No, wait. Not good enough. Have every champion have 6 of the bloody things! How epic would that be!?

I blame Pokemon Origins for this. Wish the bloody thing was never made...

I swear, if there's no Mega Kecleon in this, I'm gonna scream...

(And a Mega Grumpig, but just because it's my favourite Psychic type. I use it on my team)

Talking of gen 3 megas... I waan seeeee:

Mega Ninjask/Shedinja - a dark/bug type

Mega Walrein - a pure ice type

Still crave a mega Pidgeot so I can actually use my dream Pokemon in battles. Heres hoping Pokemon beyond gen 3 get megas (as actually quiet a fair few already have them).

I think it's fair to say that Grass/Dragon may not be the typing that Sceptile needed, but it's certainly the typing that it deserves ;)

A crap typing for a crap Pokemon

Totally deserves it. Needed the upgrade badly. I like the design as well.

Still hoping for the Pokemon to the left of this to get the same treatment.

Curiously, Mega Sableye's attacks make the sound effect for ineffective moves, I wonder what that's all about.

CoroCoro leaks imminent

Aaaaaand the first piece of news is out and it's not from CoroCoro! Secret bases officially confirmed now, despite the fact Nintendo themselves practically leaked it last month.

Oh snap! Secret bases got an EPIC upgrade!

Super-Secret Bases are an awesome new way to express your creativity and join up with friends in the upcoming Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games. Create a Secret Base that’s all your own, including selecting and placing Decorations however you like. You can use Decorations to create tricks in your Secret Base, decide the rules for what kind of Pokémon battles are allowed there, and make it like your very own Pokémon Gym! Then get ready for other players to come and challenge you!

Using communication features, it’s easy to connect with other players around the world to share your Secret Bases with one another. When you visit another player’s Secret Base, that base’s members will be hanging out there. You can talk to them or even battle them! If you find base owners that you like, you can scout them as one of your Secret Pals and bring them back to your own Secret Base. Once you’ve become Secret Pals with someone, you can continue to have Pokémon battles against them, and also have your Pal use “special skills” to support you on your adventure.

Another fun aspect of Super-Secret Bases is a capture-the-flag activity. Examine the flag beside the Secret PC in another player’s Secret Base to obtain it! You can take one flag per day from each base visited. Visit lots of Secret Bases and collect lots of flags to improve your team’s rank and get rewards, including increasing the skills of your Secret Pals. Flag colors will change based on a team’s rank, so you can tell another team’s rank at a glance—and others can tell yours!

You can share your Super-Secret Base with Trainers all over the world! Symbolize your Secret Base with a QR Code. With a QR Code, you can get the Secret Base of a particular player you’ve been wanting to visit.

To help you get started with Super-Secret Bases, you’ll meet Secret Base Expert Aarune. Aarune and his Flygon are world travelers, bursting with excitement about the Secret Base culture in the Hoenn region. This enthusiastic adventurer will teach you all about the fun of Secret Bases during your journey.

Look forward to building your own Super-Secret Base—and visiting your friends’ Super-Secret Bases—in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, launching this November!

They're not just crappy old secret bases anymore... they're SUPER Secret Bases now! :D

pokemon-omega-ruby-alpha-sapphire-secret-base05.jpg

YOU CAN BASICALLY MAKE YOUR OWN CUSTOM POKEMON GYM USING THEM!!! :o

It's like they looked at the secret bases as being a prototype that weren't finished and actually built something around them! If the rest of the game gets the same kind of treatment that these Super Secret Bases got, then this could really be the Super version of R/S/E that we always wanted! :D
