Posted September 1, 2013 (edited) I thought all you Mega-heads would've created a thread for this by now, anyway, here we go. It's $900,000 for the PC version. Funding started over night and there's already over 6,000 backers and over $385,900 pledged so far with 30 days to go. "Mighty No. 9 is an all-new Japanese side-scrolling action game that takes the best aspects of the 8- and 16-bit era classics you know and love, and transforms them with modern tech, fresh mechanics, and fan input into something fresh and amazing!" http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mightyno9/mighty-no-9?ref=home_location Edited March 20, 2014 by -Dem0-

Posted September 1, 2013 As cool as this is, I can see Capcom stepping in and shutting it down. It is WAY too similar to Mega Man in terms of character design, moves, play, even character body language
Posted September 1, 2013 I can see Capcom stepping in and shutting it down. If that does happen, which I doubt, the backlash would be monumental to say the least.
Posted September 1, 2013 (edited) It's sad to see it come to this, where the Mega Man creators have to beg the public to create a Mega Man (in all but name) game. That being said, I hope that they make it for a console launch (PC is in the bag at this point). Mega Man 9 was amazing, so I know that they have it in them to create a brilliant game! Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) Not looked much into this; not sure if I'd expect Capcom to shut it down but can see them trying to vie for a cut once it makes it. Tbh this is the sort of thing that probably won't reach its Wii U goal - but I think that's where Nintendo should step in and say 'ok, here's the extra million or so that you wanted, make it for Wii U but not PS3 or 360'. Sadly, they'll either not do that, or get beaten to it by Sony or MS. EDIT:Ok that video was kinda good. Edited September 2, 2013 by Rummy

Posted September 2, 2013 Well...it's pretty sad he had to put up his own game and studio, I guess Capcom just wasn't interested in doing anything (innovative) with Mega Man. Still, good to see people are backing the game up. Looks pretty good!

Posted March 20, 2014 That'd odd, the concept art looked hand-drawn, but this video looks standard 2.5D (polygon).
Posted March 20, 2014 I thought it was going to be sprite based. Though I never really looked into it. Still looks pretty fun.

Posted June 30, 2014 Thought Mighty No.9 would be 2D as well - pretty much Megaman XI if you will. However, he has a dash like Wario Land! There's a falling segment like Lockjaw's Locker (in DKC 2)! So, I'm pretty much sold. Nifty music too. :awesome: Game look a great, but I hate the way he runs. But yeah, this.
