Onesies

Recommended Posts

I have spent the majority of my adult life unaware of this "garment", until I moved to the South and discovered that they suddenly seem to have become popular here.

I am aware. But, God, they are horrible, imo. :p

Lol at last one.

My friend owns 3. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing these.

It was my understanding that this was the latest pyjama fashion. As in "indoor, sleeping" use.

But are you saying that people are wearing outside?

If so....what?

I have people on my facebook talking about wearing them inside when watching a film, having sleepovers, and also outside.

Yes.

I think we saw quite a few people wearing onesies at Alton Towers, but that might just have been because of Halloween... or so I hope.

I don't know how this ever became a craze. They're baby clothes!

There was even a report about them on BBC Newsnight (for those outside the UK, one of the most serious news programmes on telly). So many people I know have got them for christmas, I will not be joining them!

The Newsnight report, for anyone interested.

People who wear them should die. They were amusing about 4-years-ago. Yes, actually "before they were cool" because they are utterly hipsterish.

My friend's company makes custom ones and thinks all their customers are weirdos.

The one amusing observation is that the longer this fad is around the more it filters into older generations. My old boss, in her forties, loved them. She thinks she's really quirky.

NO, I HAVE NO TOLERANCE FOR THEM.

I came across one in a porno the other week. It was really weird masturbating to someone who dressed like a three-year-old.

This must be how ReZ feels.

It pisses me off how people think they're incredibly cute and quirky for wearing them.

But then again I hate most people for most things.

These are undoubtedly people who don't have the brains and common sense that get the rest of us through the day without violent death, so it's understandable that they might be exposed to the possibility of embarrassing faux pas if trusted with separate and easily detachable items of clothing.

Was there some tv show or some other thing in recent pop culture that made these popular, maybe? I think it started with that blanket with the arms. Well, anyway, I know that my brother got one for Christmas and almost all of my relations love / have them

:(

I remember seeing people wearing onesies/pyjama pants to uni in my freshman year. It was a fad that [thankfully] died out pretty quickly.

My ex-girlfriend wears one when she's having her friends over at her house. They all wear different colors and end up looking like grown-up versions of kids in Power Ranger outfits.

Onesies are okay. If they're a dressing gown and your naked. Or if you're just naked. Are you naked? I am.

If people want to wear them to lounge around the house in then fine but I don't think they should be worn in public at all :p that includes if you are having people over.

I got a Spider-man one for Christmas. Incredibly warm and comfy. Won't be worn outside my house, because I'm not a massive bell piece.

YEAH! *high-fives and wears The Incredible Hulk onesie like a boss*

I got one for Christmas thinking "Oh my God, why am I hated?" but then I actually wore it. It's just so comfortable! I'd never wear one outside and wouldn't actually admit to owning one either (except for this time because Bryanee and Ramar need support, haha). But yeah, my Hulk one looks awesome on me!

Also, I love how the three people who have onesies all own superhero ones, are we all resembling our very own superhero group that could be bigger than the Avengers and the Justice League put together?!

I also hate the stupid garish Christmas jumper fad that's going on at the moment as well.

How the hell did that start?

I have one, although I bought it a few years ago, before the fad started. /hipster

I've always like Christmas jumpers though. Whenever they had a hand knitted one on TV and films that was supposed to be the source of a joke, I was always jealous. But nobody ever loved me enough to knit me one so I decided to pop down to Suits You and get myself one.

Self-love for the win.
