I'm not sure how Bob Benson would ever find anyone to murder without all those fancy magical programs that Dexter uses, but maybe he could just kill annoying clients. And instead of pictures of their victims, he could show them pictures of rejected pitches. Anyway, Dexter hasn't been good for years. I'm surprised it's taken people this long to realize. Posted September 18, 2013 I mentally checked out a couple of seasons ago, so I'm enjoying how terrible this season is. It doesn't even feel like the final season. Posted September 18, 2013 Well, the final season is terrible. Personally I think there was a noticeably drop in quality past season 4, but a lot of people seem to disagree. Posted September 18, 2013 (edited) Yeah last season had me really optimistic that they would finish on a high note and then... Still, Yvonne Strahovski on my screen is never a bad thing. For the record I enjoyed season seven. Primarily, I enjoyed Jennifer Carpenter in season seven. She was fucking awesome. Speaking of, burning through the Chuck rewatch. I forgot how swiftly they moved the plot on. Benefits of constantly being on the bubble I suppose. At the sweet season two point where they haven't quite made Sarah kind-of-useless. Posted November 6, 2013 (edited) Just got to Luther Season 3. Never known a show to dip in quality quite as quickly and drastically as this one. It's still good watching, but for all that quality character building from Season 1 (which was pinnacle-of-quality television) they're quick to throw in some completely OOC moments for the sake of the plot. Especially Luther Batman-ing a guy over a balcony for a quick confession. Season 2 was OK, but plagued with some real leaps in logic from the titular character and an awkward need to reference "cool" things (like blogs and RPGs). @ReZourceman - IIRC you said you were a fan of this show, did you feel the same? Posted January 7, 2014 Just found a show from 2012; Hunderby. Written and starring Julia Davis, the mastermind behind Nighty Night. It's very well written and extremely witty. Not quite as dark as Nighty Night and perhaps not as funny, but I haven't seen it all yet. I did order the DVD after watching only 10 minutes so it much be pretty good. Posted January 8, 2014 I finally started watching Gossip Girl (after I'd heard our Ashley and Mexican boy speak fondly of it) and whilst I didn't think I'd be too impressed, I actually ended up loving it! I don't know if I'll watch another tonight, as my other friend has told me to start watching New Girl, but we'll see. Posted January 12, 2014 I watched the first two episodes of Helix. It's terrible. The characters are immensely bland and, while the story could be interesting, the plot only progresses because everyone is incredibly stupid. - Early on, the first infected guy is in critical condition and going in and out of consciousness. Two people are already dead. After the main people (who are part of biohazard detectives from a group called the CDC) look at him and leaves, he escapes from isolation. Which means that in this big complex of over 100 scientists, not a single person was keeping an eye on this dying person. - Oh, at the start they inject the members of the CDC with RFID tags into their hands - these allow them to open doors. After he escapes, they deactivate Peter's (the infected guy). They then find a dead body with his hand cut off. They actually say "why would Peter do this?" and can't seem to come up with a reason. - With one test, they come to the conclusion that this infection isn't airborne. So everyone removes all their quarantine gear, even though the gear will still protect from other methods. - Nobody in the research base (or the CDC) communicates by radio/headset/walkie-talkie and there seem to be no form of internal communication in the base. Although there are security cameras in some rooms (but not enough to track these infected people). - The main character tells the scientists to stay in pairs or larger groups. Yet his team constantly splits up. - One person from the CDC goes to another part of the building and doesn't regroup with the rest of the team in over a day, yet nobody seems curious where she is (you know she hasn't gone back off-screen as she had something important to day). She also tries to cuddle a clearly infected monkey. - There are over 100 scientists in the base and the CDC don't ask a single one for help, even though things are out of hand and they don't have enough people. - The owner of the base clearly does not want the CDC digging through things and does not want them to solve the problem. So it makes no sense why the CDC are there in the first place, as it's isolated so nobody in the outside world would even be aware of anything going on there. Totally agree with everything you've said. It's typical Syfy tat to be honest. Apart from BSG and Stargate they commission the same type of shows; poor writing, stock characters and a weird plastic/overly polished but low budget look and feel. I didn't like it. The season 3 premiere of Girls airs tonight. A show that seemed to attract praise and criticism in equal measure; I like it, especially season 1. Wonderful shot and very well written. Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) Just started watching Eureka. Didn't know this even existed until I accidently stumbled upon it on Netflix while browsing for new shows to watch.
