Dcubed Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 (edited) So with the US (and now EU, thanks to a last minute Nintendo Direct announcement, scheduled for the same day!) details incoming in less than 72 hours from now... How's about some final predictions on the launch details up in here! Just guessing the US launch details (since we don't know when we're getting EU details - but they'll probably be similar to what the yanks get anyway), what do you reckon we'll see on Thursday regarding the following? Grazza Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Wii U price: £200 (no game included) Nintendoland = £50 (includes Wii Remote Plus) One of the cheapest ways to make sure everyone who buys Nintendoland has both controllers. 1st-party launch games: Nintendoland, New Super Mario Bros
bryanee Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 US predictions, just the date and price $299.99 only one SKU with Nintendo Land, console and Upad. 04/11/2012
Hero-of-Time Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Price: US:$249.99 UK:£199 Release Date: US:11/11/2012 UK:7/12/12 Launch Day Titles: 1st Party: NSMB Wii U, Nintendo Land, Ninja Gaiden Pikmin 3. Launch Day 3rd Party Titles: ZombiU, Assassins Creed, Batman, Call of Duty, Sonic Racing, Tekken Tag 2, Darksiders II, Fifa 13, Mass Effect 3. Early Next Year: Lego City, P-100, Rayman, Game & Wario, Wii Fit U, Rabbids, Scribblenaughts. Any surprise game announcements: Retro's secret game. I think both the US and UK releases will be pretty much the same, the only difference being that the UK one will be a few weeks later.
S.C.G Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 The release dates will - probably - be... North America 2nd November Japan 9th November Europe 16th November This is surely more realistic? Nintendo won't want to miss those vital Thanksgiving Day sales in America, then Japan get it soon after as they are ready for it any time, then finally we get it in Europe a good month and a bit before Christmas. As for the price? ShopTo price = £229.99 with Nintendoland. (add *any extra game for £24.99) GAME price = £269.99 with Nintendoland + the worst possible third-party title. *From a list of reasonably decent titles. I'm sure the latter part at least will come true...
Cube Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Release: United States: 18th November Japan: 1st December Europe: 7th December Price United States: $350 Japan: 25,000¥ United Kingdom: £275 Contents Wii U, GamePad, Sensor Bar, Composite Cable, Controller USB Cable, Small GamePad stand, Nintendoland (not Japan) 4GB SD Card. No Wii Remote/Nunchuck
Ronnie Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I have a bad feeling NSMBU won't be a launch title, but will be out a couple of months later
Hero-of-Time Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I have a bad feeling NSMBU won't be a launch title, but will be out a couple of months later I think if any Nintendo game is to get pushed back then it's probably gonna be Pikmin 3. NSMB one of Nintendo's bridge games, so both it has a casual and core appeal to it. Given the flak that Nintendo have taken in the past for launching their consoles without a Mario title, I just really can't see it getting delayed.

I'm sure the latter part at least will come true... I pretty much agree with what Sam has said. But the only question left here is what will be in the box? Wii remote or no? My thoughts on the "secret" reveal would be BLOPS2. Nintendo will think it's a MASSIVE deal despite the fact that everyone assumed it was going to happen anyway.
Cube Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 My thoughts on the "secret" reveal would be BLOPS2. Nintendo will think it's a MASSIVE deal despite the fact that everyone assumed it was going to happen anyway. It's a bit hard for Nintendo do show it off - they won't be able to show any Wii U footage.
Jamba Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 It's a bit hard for Nintendo do show it off - they won't be able to show any Wii U footage. Because of the Microsoft agreement? What a stupidly weird situation... surely they must be able to after release?
Cube Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 The contract probably expires after release. So if the Wii U does release after BLOPS2 then they can at least show it before the Wii U is out.
Dcubed Posted September 11, 2012 Author Posted September 11, 2012 (edited) Any chance that a mod could update my thread title to include predictions for the EU launch? now that we know that there's an EU Nintendo Direct coming this Thursday as well! markderoos Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 You know it to be true. As a matter of fact, I think that might be the only part in your post that will be true
Zechs Merquise Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 First of all release dates: US: Early Novemeber. Possibly the 4th. EU: Somewhere between the 5th of Novemeber and the 7th of December. JAP: Somewhere between 8th of Novemeber and early December. Prices: Multiple SKUs. Starter Pack - comes with the console, tablet and Nintendo Land. Retails for around £225 Regular Pack - comes with the console, tablet, Nintendo Land, remote, nunchuck and possibly a memory card and classic controller. Retails for around £275 Possibility of a third SKU with the potential for a second game pack-in, a Mario Pack with NSMB. Japanese consoles do not have the packed in Nintendo Land and sell at a lower price - just like the Wii with Wii Sports. First Party Games NSMB, Wii Fit, Nintendo Land Third Party Games ZombiiU, Batman AC, Assasins Creed, Darksiders 2, Ninja Gaiden 3, Rayman Legends, Just Dance 4, FIFA 13 and many others. I think there will be surprises at the conference. Big Nintendo titles teased - inc Smash Brothers and the next Mario.
markderoos Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Price: WiiU Light Pack - €250,- WiiU console, Nintendoland, Gamepad and accessories. WiiU Starter Pack - €300,- WiiU console, Nintendoland, Gamepad, Nunchuck and WiiMote Plus. Release Date: Europe 7 December USA 23 November Japan 30 November Launch Day Titles: 1st Party - WiiFitU, NSMBWU and NintendoLand Launch Day Titles: 3rd Party - ZombiU, Tank! Tank! Tank!, Lego City Undercover, Assassins Creed 3, FIFA13, Rayman Legends, Rabbids Land, Avengers, Game Party, Sports Connection, Just Dance 4, Ben 10, Sonic Racing Transformed, Tekken Tag Tournament en Batman Armoured Edition. No surprise game announcements Miiverse won't be anything spectaculair; Your Mii plaza will be surrounded by other friends plazas and you can (slow)chat with each other, but you will have to work trough a (just minorly improved) friendlist process first. Even than, you won't be free to say anything, things will be monitored, checked and approved before you send something. This will be the main reason most users won't make use of this feature.
Tamazoid Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Is Ninja Gaiden III classified as third party or is it first party because Nintendo is publishing it?
Dcubed Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 (edited) Is Ninja Gaiden III classified as third party or is it first party because Nintendo is publishing it? The latter. Nintendo are publishing it in all regions (and supposedly are drafting some of their own developers to assist Team Ninja on design!) Same goes for Lego City Undercover and Sing (though without the Nintendo staff helping out part of course) P-100 also appears to be a collab development between Nintendo and Platinum (not unlike Other M or Sin & Punishment 1 & 2) - For the sake of simplicity, I've grouped them all together (and besides, Nintendo will be treating and scheduling them no differently to their own fully internally developed games anyway) Edited September 12, 2012 by Dcubed
Cube Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I have a horrible feeling that Ninja Gaiden 3 will be really good (it sounds like they realised how they did everything wrong and are fixing it) but be massively overlooked and ignored.
Hero-of-Time Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I have a horrible feeling that Ninja Gaiden 3 will be really good (it sounds like they realised how they did everything wrong and are fixing it) but be massively overlooked and ignored. There were a few details about it that came out yesterday. Here are the updates for Ninja Gaiden III on Wii U... - tougher AI - dismemberment - upgrade system - accumulate currency by pulling off combos - use the cash to purchase moves, sword upgrades, and magic spell - view some of the more complex combos on the Wii U GamePad - Ayane as a playable character - she’ll have her own “narrative-expanding missions”, complete with a new move set
killer kirby Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Secret game is Dead Or Alive 5 with Nintendo themed levels and Samus as a playable character, you heard it here first. Dragon Quest X announced over here for Jan. Monster Hunter 3G WiiU version that has online system ala Monster Hunter Portable 3rd for PS3
