Hero-of-Time Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 New IP from Capcom that has just been announced at Gamescon.
Fused King Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 So it's like Total Recall meets the Bourne Identity?
cvl Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Nice film noir style looking footage, reminded me of Blade Runner. I like it.
Deathjam Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Initially skeptical but at the end, I liked it. But as some of the youtube comments said, it's not Monster Hunter
Dcubed Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 An Uncharted/Heavy Rain clone that was rejected by Sony... That's a greeeeaaatttt substitute for Monster Hunter 3G...
Cube Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 An Uncharted/Heavy Rain clone that was rejected by Sony... That's a greeeeaaatttt substitute for Monster Hunter 3G... How is a futuristic smash 'em up revolving around memory in any way a clone of an Indiana Jones-esque 3rd person shooter/platformer and a cinematic murder mystery game?
Ganepark32 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Hmmm... another 'futuristic' title settling on some form of human augmentation, this time memory? Has me interested, although that's more to do with how and what they're going to do with memory erasing as the theme beyond the noted "You've lost you're memory and are involved in some conspiracy so go out and reclaim what you forgot". One to perhaps keep an eye on, for me at least.

It's yet another quasi interactive movie masquerading as a 3rd person shooter game? (like what every AAA budget western game is turning into?) Edited August 14, 2012 by Dcubed
Retro_Link Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) Have to agree with @Dcubed in that's the impression I got of the game too... it just reminded me of those games, albeit with a bit of PN03 (the sumersault) and Mirror's Edge (lead character/1st person hands) thrown in for good mix. I can see this going the way of Mirrors Edge, and being a great concept, but not quite reaching it's full potential kind of game. Put simply, you can't rely on Capcom as a developer anymore. However, it's only the first trailer and I kinda liked what I saw so one to keep an eye on. Edited August 14, 2012 by Retro_Link
jayseven Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Blade runner rain on the streets, fifth element style hairdoos, Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror timeline thing. Perhaps a few game mechanics stolen from prince of persia, but dressed up in futuristic gear? Need more gameplay. It's capcom so ofc it's going to be some shoddy b-movie script full of clichés.
dwarf Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Whatever you say about it, at least we're seeing another strong female character in the gaming circuit.
Cube Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I really like the look of it. Also, it's from a new development studio in Paris, Capcom are just publishing. The writer is also a French novelist called Alain Damasio.
Aimless Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Somewhat ironically, I'd completely forgotten about Adrift. Glad to finally see it make a proper appearance.
cvl Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 According to capcom-unity.com, the game will be released May 2013 for 360, PS3 and PC.
Retro_Link Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I'm not sure what to make of that gameplay. The transversing the environment looked good. But then the Inception stuff... I hope a lot of the gameplay isn't just watching interactive cutscenes like that. Also... Could you have 'Taken off the safety' first and just completed that mission... without having the bottle to trip over? Because I don't like the thought of being made to replay the same scene incrementally like that. Especially as the item that Failed the mission, then ended up helping you complete the mission.
Dcubed Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) Gameplay video. So it's basically Assassin's Creed meets Uncharted meets Heavy Rain... (automatic platforming/cutscene choices and all) No thanks. Edited August 15, 2012 by Dcubed
Fierce_LiNk Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 The gameplay footage is a lot better than that trailer at the top of the page. It seems good, but also feels like an amalgamation of various other things. Seems very much like Heavy Rain crossed with WatchDogs. Not necessarily a bad thing, I guess.
Fused King Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) It's yet another quasi interactive movie masquerading as a 3rd person shooter game? (like what every AAA budget western game is turning into?) Thank you for summarising that which I don't find all that appealing in a game. Also: Edited August 14, 2012 by Fused King
bryanee Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Looks damn good, a little rough around the edges but its still way off.
Ike Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Also: That's all I think about when I see the title
Agent Gibbs Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Looks promising, and i've always loved the Blade runner future distopia style its certainly nice to see them trying with new IP's and not resorting to another sequel of a game that is invariably worse than its predecessors

What ever could you be referring to? a prime example of it ain't broke don't fix it we've had a poor few years for creativity
