Recommended Posts

Tomorrow is pancake day and my course is doing a uni bake sale (You better come along @Paj\! ya bastard) and I made a PANCAKE CAKE.

Inside that creamy, nutty mess is 14 layers of pancakes and home-made nutella.

How do you like your pancakes?

I have all my ingredients ready, and I've just realised...I have no frying pan.

I'll have to use a wok.

Looks like the morning after a messy night out.

I only like the scotch style pancakes - so we have them!

The thin crepe style ones are wrong!!

Gimme thick scotch ones with maple syrup aaaaany day!

To be more on-topic, I can imagine that pancake cake being yummy...it's probably the blue tint that's putting people off.

(Please don't kill me for editing it, I'll take it down if you want )

And I like crepe-style pancakes with honey and butter :) Haven't had a pancake since last summer, though, and even then it was savoury...

That does look better, but I still can't work out what the things on the side are. Nuts? Maybe I'm just being stupid, but to me it looks more akin the what Ramar said.

This is what it looks like on the website. A lot of the nuts have fallen off the side though.

I'll stick them back on for the cake sale tomorrow.

I don't think we'll be having pancakes. =(

As for having pancakes, over here it's normal to have them with sugar (any kind you like, white, brown, light brown) or with nice thick spreadable apple/pear syrup. Yum.

Some like to put on chocolate spread but I'm not a fan of those!

However what I do like are pancakes with vanilla ice cream (or whatever flavour you like), warm chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Mmmmmmm.

Was just gonna come in here and post the same thing!

I don't really get the hype with batter pancakes, they're a bit wierd... thin, kinda greasy, and get cold quickly. Sure I'll eat them, but I'm not overly fussed.

Scotch pancakes on the other hand are plain awesome!! Make a great breakfast and could eat them all the time!! :D Bring on the maple syrup!!

Had one pre-wrapped one at work, which was slight crap as we saw what the London office had for pancake day (ie a platter of ice cream, pancakes, nutella and all sorts today.) and it was kinda shit.

Not got the ingredients to make any and was too preoccupied anyway, oh well.

PANCAKES

Yes I had some today with lemon and some sweetener (diet lol)

Worked out well that is pancake day today because I had to eat something soft and easy to digest with me getting braces!

munched down a plate full, what a wonderful day to celebrate! My stomach has been ever expanding since Christmas though, maybe this binge should be my turning point :P

I get it now. You seem to have used a lot of nuts though.

I went over to a friend's to have pancakes, and had possibly the most disappointing pancakes ever in the history of fried floury goods.

Yes, those are TINNED strawberries. From China no less. John West tinned strawberries. Who knew?
