Weight Loss & Fitness 2012

Yeah I did some research and ordered some Platinum Hydro Whey which apparently is the best on the market, if a little pricey. Only contains 130 calories per scoop with no added sugar and 30g of Protein.

Anyone into protein shakes? I'm thinking of picking some whey protein just to help with muscle recovery. Running 2 x 12km, 3 visits to the gym and playing football tends to leave me feeling pretty tired at the end of the week. I'm not after anything fancy, probably just just vanilla or chocolate whey powder added to milk. It can be hard to get motivated to exercise when you're still a bit stiff from previous efforts and from everything i've read, this is the stuff to help.

I'm a Garnell Nutrition protein man myself, been using them since January. All the flavors taste nice with water or milk (obviously less calories deciding to have it with water). I have tried Vanilla, Banana, Strawberry and currently on Chocolate.

Tub contains 2270G, 128 Calories a serving - serving it reckons about 32G (with water), 25G protein, low everything else.

£33 from this site which I have been using. Can choose what day you want it delivered as well, much cheaper than using there own site.

So I joined bannentynes gym, I do 10 minutes on the treadmill (2 mins at 5.5, 2 mins at 7.5 alternating) 10 minutes on the cross trainer at level 1, 10 minutes level 3 on the bike. Then I do 15 reps at 5kg on the shoulder press, 15 reps at 15kg on the chest press, 30 seconds wide squat on the power plate level 1 and 15 reps at 30kg on the lat pull. I have to do those twice.

Not noticed much in the way of weight loss and iv been going for 6 weeks now averaging twice a week with swimming added as well, but I feel 100 times fitter. Go me!

The C25k program? I did that at the end of last year, and it really helped. I'd not really been much of a runner before and it helped to have a nice structure to follow.

A couple of weeks ago when I was on holiday I ran a 10k, just to see if I could do it. It was awesome.

Now I run 5k a few times a week on my lunch hours and am just working on increasing my pace. Today I ran 5k in 25:30, which I was super chuffed with.

Keep at it, it gets easier!

I think it's that, yeah. It has pictures of stickmen on it, that's all I know, haha. Had to take a few days off from running as I don't feel well at all but hopefully, I'll be back on my feet soon enough!

It's good to know it's been successful for you though, gives me hope as well. :bouncy:

ran full circle through a multitude of diets, and now I'm back at weightwatchers.... sigh.

I just could NOT shift any weight no matter what I tried, for 3 whole years. someone of my weight and bmi should be shift 2 or 3 pounds a week and I was doing about 0.5-1lb a month, getting pissed off of it after 2-3 months then fell off the wagon. My contraceptive implant has now expired and the weight is falling off me without even seriously trying... I lost 7.5lbs this week and I didn't even count strictly!! :/

My spine has been really settled lately (arthritis) so I got the ok from my rhematology dr, then went out and got a pushbike.. There's something really nice about being out in the real world and not in the confines of a gym... and I can do this kind of exercise without aggravating my "asthma"- STILL waiting to see the lung specialist about that too... Starting to think its possibly a heart complaint and not a lung one, as my lungs are working, but my heart isn't hitting sky high numbers like it did in the gym. (when I mean sky high we're talking 180-190bpm even when I was of good fitness)

My right shoulder is causing me some irritation at the moment. I think it has something to do with my car, because I remember that after driving 2 and a half hours or so to Wales at Christmas that it was aching for days afterwards. I was unable to even lift it in the shower. Same on the way back.

It's making me weary about lifting weights, because the ache seems to come and go. Think the car has a draft or something. I remember I had the window down one time and kept getting pains in my neck.

Body fail. :(

Okay so I haven't really been keeping you all updated so here goes: unfortunately, there is something wrong with my stomach and doctors are unsure of what it is. It hurts when I eat or exercise or if I stand for too long or stay in the same position for too long. I won't go more into detail because I won't depress you so I haven't been doing my normal level of exercise.

In saying this though, I am now 16 stone and 8 pounds, meaning I've lost 5 pounds. 8 pounds more and I have reached my goal of being in the 15 mark. However, I have five weeks left! It's going to be close but hopefully I can do it!

I went into flu overload last month and it's taken me a while to recover and then I had a phlegmy chesty thing the end of last week so a week here and there I didn't go to they gym. Also started eating cookies and chocolate again.

But I'm pretty much better now so back to normal and no more crap food. Except for this Friday.

I'm just trying to work on my upper body strength (AKA Pull ups and press ups) until I feel I'm strong enough to try doing some parkour. I think that's a more fun way of exercising than going to the gym, and it motivates me more. I'm also trying to do a bit of Aikido with my friends, so that's something too.

This new girl I've got myself has really got in the way of going to the gym!

Haven't been to the weights room in 6 weeks now. I was still playing LOADS of tennis though which sort of makes up for it. Until 2 weeks ago exactly when I strained my right hamstring.

I've done no exercise since then to rest it but I need to make my return to the football pitch tonight as we're short of numbers. I've got my support tubing ready to go for my hamstring and a strap for my left quadricep which currently has an UBI. It feels like a strain but I only feel it when I'm sitting down.

Football tonight when it's more than likely I'll have to play the 90 and then a tennis match tomorrow which again I'm only playing due to lack of numbers. Should be interesting. The hamstring feels fine now (and even did after I had to sprint to the off-license on Friday to get there before it closed). I'm more worried about my legs being so stiff that I can't move tomorrow!

I don't know whether it's good news or bad news and this is to do with weight loss so I'll post it on here. My old clothes fit me again but most of my trousers are too big for me and the belts I have now don't have any more notches, I've had to make more holes in them so it would fit me.

Even my elasticated tracksuit trousers keep on falling down all of the time, that's never happened before! I'm also seeing a bit of difference in my stomach as well, it's becoming more flatter and my chest is also the same.

My ex-housemate has a weighted hula hoop and I found it pretty fun to use when I was living there. I've bought the next weight up from that and have been using it in my living room. It's great fun to use and it kills the first few times, but you get used to it pretty quickly.

I read that as in a hula hoop the crisps :p Once I realised you weren't talking about food, I was not as interested.

After 3 or 4 years of a regular 3/4 days a week fitness regime I notice myself getting a bit disillusioned with it all so rather then just falling off I'm doing this 5 min blast every day along with kung fu style stretches and Qi Gong. Just think my batteries need time to recharge a bit.

I took a couple weeks off being healthy and gyming because I was getting bored - was smashing away junk food and all. Back to in now and love it. Didn't realise how much I needed the break.

I also started to go to the gym for 30-40 minutes. Basically leaning towards shorter sessions. Seems to work well.

So I have an update for you guys. As you may have known, I set a target this year to get to the 15 stone region (meaning I could be 15st 12lb or under) by the time it is my birthday in June. Next Sunday will be my birthday and unfortunately, I'm afraid that I haven't succeeded in my goal. My last weigh-in before my birthday was 16st 7lb. I need to lose 7lb before next Sunday and I know that would be impossible, especially under the condition I'm in right now.

However, I'm proud of myself because I have lost almost an exact stone since January and a lot more in a year so I'm proud of myself and happy. On my birthday, I'll take a photo of me now and also what I looked like last year as well. But yeah, thanks to you guys for the support and the advice. I'm going to keep on doing it and hopefully get to my ultimate goal! :D

True but my lowest weight was 15st 12lb and that was when I was 15. Life took over and I let myself go and kidded myself that I was fine. It wasn't until I went on the scales and saw 18st something that I realised that I'd carry on putting on weight so I did something about it and set goals. This one was a struggle but I kept on. Unfortunately, I didn't succeed but with only 7lbs left, I'm still impressed with myself.

But as you said, all that matters is that I carry on doing what I'm doing! :D

look at the end of the day what's happened has happened. Life moves on and what you do now counts. And you've had great success already! So be proud!

I am proud! 100%! I think I'm awesome and the difference is very noticeable to me so I'm happy! Still going to carry on, mind but yeah, I rock! ;)

I'm back in the gym tomorrow with what feels like forever being off it, being away for Download festival and seeing my gf has allowed me to eat lots of rubbish! :D

Before then I hadn't really been lifting weights as I been having grief with my left arm elbow tendon, hopefully the rest has sorted it out. I didn't even injure it in the gym, it was due to having an arm wrestle and playing squash I started to get a pain and it hasn't gone away...

Scared to weigh myself after all my food eating but it needs to be done! :p
