Actually, it's Russian:

According to the communication of Danish site Inside Gamer, prefix Nintendo Revolution is completely completed and ready to series production. The journalists of resource refer to the Japanese publication Dengeki, which is counted sufficiently to reliable. It is possible to assume that the previously appeared rumors about the possibility of appearance Nintendo Revolution during March-April are completely real.

EDIT: Thought I'd dig out the site in question:

Hope this is true though unveiling at E3 then shortly releasing may lead to lack of demand initially, either that or a mad upsurge in demand over the few weeks before launch...well guess i just got to wait and see now. Hope it's true though if i had to wait til next november i'd probably lose all interest in it, i mean its like 12 months away damnit! And so much for releasing before the competition, Sony are being pencilled in for Septemeber if the sources from a thread in the 'other consoles' section is to be believed.

Just remember by "worldwide launch" they didn't mean it'd be released everywhere at EXACTLY the same time, just with not as long as usual between releases. If it was out in May in Japan, it'd probably be likely to assume September at earliest for Europe I think, but likely later.

I still don't expect it until at least August for Japan/US though myself.

heres a thing to think about, xbox 360 was unvieled in may, unfinished, and released in november

rev will be fully unvieled in e3 06 as the final product. so from there they could produce them, which would take 3 months for a million or so to be manufactured.

Question is though WHEN will it be finalized and put in production. I mean what's to say that its not finished before e3, lets say in april and put in full production then?

Dengeki is Japanese right? It's probably just a misunderstanding.

Even if it had gone gold Nintendo would probably wait at least until September to launch it, just to give them time to hype enough during the E3.

Posted

Dengeki could hve been talking about a Gold coloured Revolution to match the Gold coloured DS, right?

Right?

No? Ah well :heh:

Meh, wether it has gone gold or not we still have to wait for the games. Although if they put the console on sale tomorrow packed with a demo showing off the features and the virtual console set up (enabling me to download past games) then that would make me happy until actual Revolution games are released, anyone else feel the same? :heh:

Posted

I'd rather have them put 6 more months of precious development time for hardware and network than the virtual console :hmm:

I can't see this holding up , what with e3 and all that. I would presume Nintendo would like a bit more post e3 time to raise awareness and expectations a bit more.

Although , saying that , it could tie in nicely with a likely Cube release date for Zelda TP.

Posted

ThePigMarcher, I think the "post e3 time to raise awareness and expectations a bit more" is gonna go all "Pre e3" on us this time around. I've never before (i'm 24) seen a console get this much hype before release, so I think the attention's pretty much there already. Combine Virtual console, Zelda Twilight compatibility, a new franchise, Mario and Smash Bros launch titles together, and this could be a master stroke for nintendo.
