why does single player have to be so easy?

should have had an option to wack it up to hard from the get go in tournament mode.

Interesting...

Especially that GameTrailers review. :o They're usually first in line to put down Nintendo games, so I'm very surprised with that one.

At this point it all comes down to the online being smooth, and that seems to be the case, so it's all good. :)

Looking forward to some N-E matches next week! :bouncy:

So it seems that Chance Shots aren't the be-all and end-all of matches then. Excellent!

That's my only real fear dispelled then! :D Bring on next Friday!

Some good reviews,i cant see why they are saying the online is poor because no one is playing, when the games not even out ,

question about online play.

can you set how many legs and sets you want?

if not, how long are the matches?

The Great Yoshi Hunt of 2012!

YOSHI CHASE RAMPS UP MARIO TENNIS OPEN LAUNCH

Track down the playable Yoshis by finding the Mario Tennis Open QR codes

18th May - In an exciting Nintendo 3DS exclusive, a massive Yoshi hunt will soon become available ahead of the upcoming Mario Tennis Open launch on 25th May. The hunt, entitled The Yoshi Chase, will involve tracking down a series of different-coloured Yoshis, playable in Mario Tennis Open, through corresponding QR codes released over the coming weeks through various channels. The Black Yoshi will be the first to be released but there are many more in the pipeline so keep your eyes peeled.

Each Yoshi QR code will be released in a variety of different ways and at different times, so you will have to stay alert to find them – the Black Yoshi will be distributed first exclusively through 30 Asda stores on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th May, between the hours of 9.30AM and 5.30PM. White, Blue and Red Yoshi will follow at a later date. These characters can only be activated with the QR code held by in-store sampling teams, so be sure to come down with your Nintendo 3DS so you don’t miss out.

Black Yoshi will be available at the following Asda stores: Minworth Supercentre, Tamworth Supercentre, Patchway Supercentre, Cardiff Supercentre, Queensferry Supercentre, Ellesmere Port Supercentre, Coventry Supercentre, Derby Supercentre, Hessle Great Bridge Supercentre, Govan Livingston Supercentre (SOL), Huyton Supercentre, Pudsey Supercentre, Eastlands Supercentre, Trafford Park Supercentre, Gravesend, Milton Keynes Supercentre, Gateshead, West Bridgford, Havant Supercentre (SOL), Dagenham, Cortonwood Living, Haydon Supercentre (SOL), Eastleigh Supercentre, Eastgate Supercentre, Lower Earley, Watford Supercentre, Wigan Supercentre, Leicester Fosse Park.

Does anyone live near an 'Asda' store?

OOoooooorrrr, you could just go online and scan the QR code from your computer screen :indeed:

It would be nice if was in the Asda store in Crossharbour, as it's on the way to uni. But yeah, what you said...

I could easily get to the Asda stores at Tamworth or Minworth.

But the fun of the hunt is somewhat ruined by the fact the QR code will likely just appear online. :(

So are all the secret characters just different coloured Yoshis then?
From what I can tell by the Japanese site (and that's not a lot, seeing as I can't read Japanese :heh:) there will be a QR code for a Yoshi Mii outfit, and QR codes for 7 different Yoshi colours.

But, there's also another section under QR codes that is yet to be revealed, so there could still be a surprise character(s) on the way. ;)

I'm not fussed either way though, the current roster already seems fine, plus I'll no doubt be using my Mii 99.9% of the time anyway, just like I do in MK7. :hehe:

Ooh... Shy/FlyGuy maybe!?

Please! It feels weird having a Mario Tennis game without him!

No doubt at all. ;)

...unless it really sucks. :hmm:

Yeah, I was very happy to spot that racquet type the other day, while watching a YT vid of this game. I'm guessing/hoping there will be Red Shell versions of all the other items too, so I can kit my Mii out in nothing but Red Shell gear. :heh:

Red Shell overload!

*cough* :p

Anyway, you get a review copy yet, Mike?

Alas, no, apparently they were a little low on copies, and I don't think we're too high on Nintendo's list of priorities, as we're not a gaming specialist mag. Apparently one will be sent out next week, but I'll probably be getting it around the same time as everyone else.

Let's add one more Review to the mix:

"There's no doubt that Mario Tennis Open is a strong and accessible entry in the beloved series, and a group of friends gathered round can lose themselves in it for a long time. Solo players can still have a good time perfecting their skills, and playing online is a nice way to keep things interesting, but the missing RPG mode leaves a pretty big hole that a lack of substantial single-player content struggles to really fill — and unless you're a part of a cabal of 3DS owners you'll miss out on the real heart of the game: punching your wily opponent in the arm after a hard-fought match. 7/10"

I'm still really torn about what to do with this. I have been hovering over my preorder cancellation button a few times now. :)

Reconsidering getting this... might be worth it?

Just get it, you know it'll be worth it plus what other retail titles are coming out on the 3DS within the next few weeks? : peace:

Anyway, I've just paid for my copy in advance on ShopTo so here's hoping I get it on Thursday. :)

Well my mind has been made up for me as Shopto have taken the money for it. :D
Hehehe! Nice.

Hey, did you ever get a wireless router sorted out? I don't want any excuses for you not taking part in the online fun, H-o-T!

Unless they're to do with Nintendo's "fantastic" online system. :heh:

: peace:

Those reviews still aren't tempting me. Those chance shots just look game ruining for me. Are they in multiplayer or just single player? Some videos I can't see them!
