Gaijin von Snikbah
I would like to see a shout box, or a instant message board if you like. Someplace to send instant messages, and chat with the fellow Revo-Europe users. I know there is a chat already, but I dont think it is working properly. I will point to the brilliant shoutbox of the Advanced Media Network: http://forums.advancedmn.com/ Its simple and sophisticated. It even lets you post pictures. Make it schnappy, and make it google simple! (That was a joke by the way) (Dont hurt me)
Ashley
I've mused over a shoutbox before but going by past experience of this place, it would either be: spammed cluttered with links to porn and/or illegal downloads turn into a never ending conversation about wanking and whats "not working" about chat? (im interested, im not just being bitter)
Gaijin von Snikbah
Well, after connecting to the IRC server, it seems that it doesnt connect to the revo-europe channel. Even after you write /join #revo-europe, it wont let you send any messages. I dont think there is any other problems but that.

Mr_Odwin
Is it the same problem that Schpickles mentioned aaaaaages ago? Do a search on his posts and I'm sure it'll pop up somewhere close to the start. Jon
There is a problem with the client, you can either get mirc or use another one like mine
Twozzok
And the fact i'm pretty sure #revo-europe is pretty much defunct now.

Fields
OK, I have a suggestion: Can you please, please, please stop people posting 'amusing'/shocking news stories in General? The odd one is fine, but there seems to be a trend now and it's getting annoying. How about an official news thread or something so that I don't have to sift through all this shit to find the good threads?
Ashley
Although 'funny' vidoes et al don't have much of a discussion point, other than "LOL", news can bring about genuine discussions. I'll look into them, but doubt my mind will change.

How about an official news thread or something so that I don't have to sift through all this shit to find the good threads? I'd have to agree, pisses me off- there's one member who does it far too much to an extent where he is influencing other users to do the same. On top of that, I'd like the 'Search this Forum' tab in forums to actually search this forum. It's a little tedius when you just get general search results for all forums when you're specifically looking for a GameCube or classic game and you get all the threads about remakes. PHP search is already bad enough as it is to have to trawl through results for all forums. If I wanted a general search I'd click the top bar which searches all forums. I know it does have a query certain forums option but it defeats the point of the search this forum tab being there if it doesn't do the job specified. The "Search this forum" feature works perfectly for me. I just checked in General and it only brought up General threads with a search on 'revo'. Nintendork
No such luck on Safari- I can't see a decent reason why it wouldn't work on Safari.
kellett03
the good, the bad and the ugly. every week post a feature on the main site about what happen in the industry that week. the good stuff that happen, the bad stuff that happen and the ugly. for instance the good: nintendo announce wii final name of next generation console bad: its crap ugly: the back lash from the fan and the media. you would have to expand on that alot to make it a feature every week. the topics would not even have to relate to each other. what i mean is the good topic is on gamecube games. the bad is on a developer interview(will weight) and the ugly is on "spong" for instance. next week all the topics would be on totally different ideas. and at the same time make it funny. Mokong
In an attempt to lessen the slow down of the forums due to the enormous amounts of hits E3 brings some forums have been will be closed down for the week, Creative, Online, Tech and Rival are the first casulties and more may follow... Colin
All them boards are still viewable though if you know how! I don't know whether you can post in them though, as I haven't bothered to try as got no need.
Platty
The boards are not active and are also closed so even if you do view them you wont be able to post. Things have speeded up nicely since this was implemented thank God.
Colin
Things have speeded up nicely since this was implemented thank God. Yeah, I've noticed that aswell. Things are wizzing real quick and there's quite a few users online at the moment aswell.
Fields
Are we going to have a World Cup forum like last time? I don't want to have to stick to an 'Official World Cup Thread' or anything gay like that, and you know there's going to be a lot of posts during the tournament, so what do you reckon? Ashley
Its been suggested and discussed, but we're E3-centric right now.
BlueStar
Is there any chance of some consitancy in modding and locking? It seems a bit clueless at times. Why on earth would this thread be locked? Advertising? I mean come on http://www.revo-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6704 If it was advertising, does it stop being advertising when the thread is locked? It doesn't make any sense. It just seems to be locking for the sake of it. The same lock-happy cluelessness in this thread too: http://www.revo-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5572&highlight=zelda+homebrew Locked, why? Even if you thought homebrew was illegal or something, you lock it, there's still a link to "illegal" content on the board. Then we have this thread: http://www.revo-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4897 Not only not locked, but a mod specifically saying it doesn't need to be locked. But pirate magazine scans are fine, apparently, even though they've resulted in other boards being shut. Are mods appointed because they know what they're doing, or because they're someone's mate? Ashley
Agreed, the first two should have been moved elsewhere, or all the content deleted. Done that now. And the last one is not talk of illegality. The Homebrew Zelda would have originated through use of Rom hacks and all that, which is illegal. The other one was just how to run a homebrew, which is not illegal in itself, downloading and using roms is. Much in the same was as teaching someone how to steal, it is not illegal to teach them, but it is illegal to steal.
