That's language and nationality if I'm not mistaken. The two biggest parties represent different areas of the country, the french and the flemsh speaking areas.

Edit: How did I get 3 minutes late...

United States 5.0 murders per 100,000 people in 2009

United Kingdom 1.28 murders per 100,000 people in 2009

Why are we still arguing about this?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate

Because statistics are easily twisted and often nonsense.

For one, homicide includes the killing of a human by another under any circumstances. This would include self-defense, which is what would happen when one has a gun; among other things.

It takes no account of cultural differences.

If you take away legal guns, only the bad-guys have guns.

No that's just to do with language differences and money issues and whatnot.

Well I did know that. I just don't understand the whole youth-politics group thing. It just seems wrong and exacerbatory to divisions to me, especially conserning people under 18-21.

Then why is it specifically a Labour Youth camp?

I don't get how the reinforcement of one way of thinking helps expand the thinking of anyone.

Seems dodgy to me.

Contrary to what seems to be popular belief, they actually DISCUSS politics at these camps; they're not being force-fed propaganda. As Tales has already said, the politically interested youngsters choose the summer camps they want to go to, be they socialistic, liberalistic, conservative or something else entirely.

What strikes me is how you seem to think it's "dodgy" that young people discuss politics and, God forbid, have an opinion. Nightwolf was right, you seem more and more like our previous resident conspiracy theorist, Mad Monkey.

They haven't tried making a debate; there have been a few underhanded comments though*.

*No citations; sorry.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make?

I'm not going to touch the gun issue. The thread is bound to get derailed.

I'm not after loose far-left weirdos.

And I'm not right wing; I'm a metronome.

I'm just more vocally anti-far-left/anti-hypocrisy. Anti-right sentiment is overdone as it is, and for some reason, far-left seems to be more socially acceptable.

You change political views according to public opinion? And you call yourself anti-hipocrisy? Riiiiight...

At one point in your life, you decide which party follows your way of thinking. You join a group that supports it, and you do this out of your own free will (nobody forces you to join anything at all). In that regard, it's no different than joining the party itself. That group then engages in activities that support said party, or act in accordance to that party's beliefs.

I don't see what's so hard to understand, Portugal also has them, and I'd be surprised if the US didn't.

The fact that you seem to be actively trying to find parallels with groups such as Hitler-Jugend and Mocidade Portuguesa is disgusting me.
