Considering paying for one of the sites I've signed up to...there's a couple of girls on there with similar interests and everything else matching the Joe-quotient...but gotta have paid to send/receive messages after the first (no guarantee they have it either)...bit hesitant

Besides, my shyness rings through this still -_-

You can afford it. Take the leap. ;)

Yeah but if I have to cancel, I have to phone up and they'd just be a massive pain

Just do what @Daft did when he cancelled LoveFilm or something, keep it short and sweet and basically tell them to do one! :p

Is that an excuse I hear From Serebii? Surely not!

I'm not exactly the most social person, as you may be able to tell from another topic here where I scored high on a specific test...

There was one time I was out with my friends...a hot girl was eyeing me up, my friends tried to get me to go over...I wanted to, but I couldn't...I physically couldn't. I ended up destroying the entry bracelet we all had from it all.

It's not as easy as "lol just do it" for some people

We're talking about paying for a service to possibly secure yourself a date. Don't hide behind your social limitations deriving from a condition as an excuse for not going through with that.

If you aren't even going to take on the gym leaders how will you handle the elite four?

My friend's mother once pointed out a girl is more likely to take an interest in someone that has made the effort to pay for a service. It shows commitment, enthusiasm and the fact you're not a tight arse.

Oh, I thought you were referring to my trouble with sending the first message etc.

Though it is sort of linked...don't want to waste money if I can't bring myself to do it often

I totally understand.

It's like signing up for a porn site only to realize that most of the videos weren't nearly as good as they seemed.

But look at it this way. Maybe you'll get some sexual satisfaction out of it, at least!

So I think this online dating thing may have been a good idea. Talking to a couple of people who I have some stuff in common with and it's been nice. The only thing that's worrying me now is if we get on this well online, we might eventually meet in real life. Thinking about that has made me pretty nervous. Obviously it won't happen for a while but not sure I could go through with it!

Same here. Two girls in particular have been dropping hints at me about "a cute little vintage cafe on Blackrock Road," or a fucking nature walk. The process of flirting genuinely makes me wilt a little, because I have no idea what to say to women in a romantic situation.

That's the thing, being yourself online seems so much easier than being yourself with someone face to face. And even though they've seen pictures I just worry that I'm not what they'll be expecting.

I'm over thinking about this way too much :P

I tend to find quoting Peaches helps.

I'm talking to two different girls on OKC right now and have no idea what the best method of escalation is to getting a number and then asking them out on a date...

Going out with a girl tomorrow night (a real life girl) which should be good. Looking forward to getting to know her properly as we've only had a few Facebook Chat conversations and text messages since I met her last weekend.

Charlie having no idea how to flirt with a girl? We're all fucked. And not in the good way.

That's not what I said. :heh:

Anyway, straight after posting that I said "I'm heading out now but you should give me a text ;)" Then put my number afterwards. Had a text from her 5 mins later.

Regarding my date this evening: Have not heard back form the girl since yesterday afternoon, she does always text forever to text back so I'm not worried.....

I'm not worried.

I'm not worried.

I'm not worried.

Well, yeah it is :p what I meant by that really was that it's easier to talk to people online than it is face to face and it just makes me nervous thinking that I might eventually meet up with someone.

Ah, fair enough. Look at it this way though, meeting somebody face to face in a first date situation is always going to be nerve-wracking. At least this way you will have spoken to them a few times before, and have a profile on them, so you'll have a few things to draw on to make the conversation flow more easily.

No one can force you to meet or do anything you don't want to do! It's up to you, just think of the potential relationship or friendship you could gain...or possibly meeting a weirdo/serial killer (JK) :p

Date went really well. She was really easy to talk to. Great chat. She was driving so wasn't drinking. I had one pint and decided getting drunk was not a good idea so stuck to the softies. Really good night. :)

Just seen a profile from someone who likes Firefly and similar shows. I was about to message her when I saw.

Likes dogs and dislikes cats

What a pity.
