Gaming news websites?

So, Kotaku is shit. It's still sitting there as my homepage out of guilt more than anything, but I'm done with them. I'm looking for a good general gaming news website with an easy to navigate interface and a decent chunk of stories.

 

Eurogamer is super and all but they're generally a day late on most of their articles, which can be frustrated.

I tend to use http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Arts+%26+Entertainment/Computer+Games/Nintendo as a starting point (obviously that's in the Nintendo section but I'm too lazy to look for you :p). MCV, Gamesindustry.biz. Andriasang is good for translated stuff from Japan. More I'm sure but for obvious reasons most of my bookmarks are Nintendo-related.

I love this site. They stick to the facts and keep the posts short, sweet and unbiased with little or no fluff. If you're lucky they drop a few pics. They also seem to get the scoop on certain news or announcements early quite often.

1up have become terrible for news recently... they have become more of top 10 site and such. here's hoping the the recent UGO/IGN merger brings them something back...preferably the 1up show although a lot of the personalities from that show are now gone....

I read http://www.escapistmagazine.com/ sometimes, because I go there for Zero Punctuation and Unskippable. The forum is entertaining to read as well. How come no one's mentioned it? Is there some sort of stigma against it?

I don't really follow any websites. Rock Paper Shotgun is good for perusal since they have some interesting editorial, but for news, I just get it through the grapevine that is the N-E forums, and then alternate between picking up Games Tm/ Edge from the news stand every month for a delayed appraisal. Works for me.

I use predominantly Twitter for ALL news nowadays. I've never really been one for news websites and Twitter is instant and more interactive. Sadly it's also a carousel of lies, with a celebrity dying every day. If you can pan for gold, you're good.

 

Failing Twitter, ex-NE legend Jordan is a human RSS feed for geeky news.
