Yet perversely it's the disillusioned poor that are the driving force behind Trump's success, they seem to think Trump is going to bring back jobs and reinvigorate the deprived inner cities, but Trump is far more likely to increase the divide between rich and poor than anything else.

When people are disillusioned, pissed off with their lack of prospects and potential for wealth in their area and are tired of seeing politicians constantly lie, they're more easily fooled when somebody parades around confidently and gives off the aura that they have the answers to everything, even if they don't.

its like brexit all over again. Never seen nations so equally & passionately divided until recently.

Looks like that will be the case, but unfortunately the only passion in the US election is from the Trump voters, Hillary still has the traditional core Democratic vote, but isn't giving the average voter any reason to be enthused by her.

I think the passion on her side will only become evident if she loses the election. There is going to be a great deal of social unrest whoever wins.

@Daft <3

Its been a hellish week..

My counsin's little girl passed away last week. 10 months old, beautiful little girl. I can't get my head around it and there is nothing I can do to help. The funeral is today.

My health has come to a head, I went to the doctors two weeks ago to check up on what was happening as my symptoms from August had not gone away. After being referred to the hospital yesterday and Tuesday I have discovered:

- I have an ovarian cyst that's effectively the size of a 5 and a half month old baby

- I have multiple fibroids

- I have Endometriosis

My scans have come back with echos and my bloods have come back not good. So within the next two weeks I have to have an MRI to see if I have ovarian cancer. I'm also being told that if I ever do want children its going to be really difficult.

Even writing those words feels strange, but I've been advised to bring some with me when I find out the results.

I don't know what to do with myself right now.

If there's anything I can do, whether you just need to talk to or you want to go on a full on rant, I'm here.

I understand that all of this is a lot to take in and I can't imagine what is going through your mind, so there's no rush; any time, through any means (be it Instagram, smoke signals, Facebook or carrier pigeon), I am here to be whatever you need.

We're all here for you. I don't think it's any exaggeration to say that you're a big part of this community.

Stay strong.

Did you anyway?

Anyways, more morbid news... A friend of mine has lost her battle with the cancer - I'm not entirely sure which kind, I never really wanted to seek out the details - earlier this week. We all knew it was terminal but we all thought we had more time together. I was told that she went peacefully but I can't get it out of my head that it wasn't the case and I hope those shitty thoughts can bugger off outta my head. She's not hurting anymore, which is the best we can take out of that. :red:

I'm so sorry to hear about your horrible news @nightwolf. :(

Like Daft said, if you need to speak to someone or just get stuff off your chest, we are all here for you.

I know your family don't live close to you, but I hope that they (and your partner) can help you to go through this difficult time somehow.

@EEVILMURRAY, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Like you said, at least she's not hurting anymore right now, but that doesn't make this any easier to deal with. :(

Take care.

In short, cancer is a bitch.

Christ, @nightwolf...don't know what to say. To echo Daft: if there's anything I can do, I'm here. I mean, with our history it's the least I can do ;)

@EEVILMURRAY sorry to hear about your friend...I really hope those thoughts in your head will vanish soon.

Cancer is a right twat. A good friend at work just found out that his girlfriend's dad only has a few weeks left. He had been treated in hospital for cancer, but was told early this week that it's no longer working. They've allowed him to go home and spend the rest of his time with his family.

The silver lining in his situation is that he'll hopefully be alive to see his son get married in the next week or so.

Cancer is fucking horrid.

I appreciate the thoughts, but luckily I'm far enough removed from the situation that it's not really effecting me beyond it being sad to hear about.

It seems like there's a lot more of it around. I didn't really know of anyone that had it up until recently, and now it seems like more and more people I know are getting it. Maybe it's just because I'm getting older and the average age of people I know is higher now, so it's just getting more likely. Who knows.

If those who have already posted, or anyone else for that matter, need someone to talk to etc, feel free to drop me a PM or Facebook message.

Thanks everyone. I took the day off work today to gather my thoughts.

My MRI is Monday, which is thankfully swift, so hopefully by the end of this month I'll have an answer.

@nightwolf I was in a similar position about a year ago (the waiting to hear about the C word). In my case I was told I got i had it but got a call back a few days later to say they were wrong and I actually had the all clear. Anyway the worst part is always the waiting, playing it over and over in your mind. Just got to try and do your best to not think about it, especially don't dwell on the negatives if you can.

The first specialist had read the test results wrong! Strange to say but I wasn't overly sad, it was almost nice to know for definite. Only hear it was wrong a few days later haha.

Such a terrible disease, cancer.

My cousin had and beat it twice over the course of the last 5+ years, only to be told that her veins were collapsing due to the chemotherapy she'd had.

Sadly she passed away last weekend, had the funeral Friday.

It's insane how the disease itself wasn't the end of her but the treatment itself was.

Moving a little back into first world problems.

Those shirts I bought don't fit. Their XL is apparently a M in US/EU/AU, so I'm getting they're using Chinese measurements?! Ordered a 3XL as it equates to an English XL but the things still don't fucking fit. I is not that fat.
