Just imagine, if you played a decent games console too you'd have even more to add to your list ;)

And you would also probably be getting The Last of Us, a zombie survival game by the Uncharted creators which just got Edge Magazine's 15th ever 10/10 score :D

We get in proper trouble if we a) don't remove a TPS person, or b) don't stop calling a person when they have explicitly said they don't qualify, or c) don't make accurate notes to show how previous calls have gone.

A company calls me from an 01792 number all the time. They have lots of different extensions too.

I've told them multiple times that I'm on TPS, to remove me from their database etc etc. One time when I answered (I generally don't anymore) that I'm on it and he's braking the law by calling me and I wanted to speak to a manager... He hung up.

I don't care who those guys are or how nice the person on the phone is. I've told them so many times the person who calls my phone is getting told where to go.

Just found out that I've got one of the 10 interview slots for the PhD positions being offered by my psychology department at uni. Super happy as I've been really anxious to hear about what was happening on that front. 10 candidates for 4 positions isn't too bad. Stand a decent chance of getting one of the places I feel.

Have to make a 10 minute presentation of my proposal and then gird myself for half an hour or questioning after so I'll have to get in the game and be proper prepared for this.

My school reports will hopefully have been handed in by this week, too. So, it's pretty much coasting from here.

Then, end of the month...Glastonbury!! :o

Potential Thorpe Park visit after that.

Yeah Flink.

I was reading your post, thinking "Wow what an awesome week" but then Thursday and Friday came and went with no sign of The Last Of Us, and I just felt an overwhelming sense of pity.

Here comes the fanboyyyyys.

Zero fucks given. I've already mentioned my Xenoblade Sunday and I'm rotating between games/got a huge backlog of about 30 games that I'm working through anyway. So, go try somewhere else. ;)

I've test driven a Toyoto Aygo (Fire) today. Got a call after work about it, so decided to go straight there and test drive it. It's a lovely machine. Saturday seems to be even more important now as I now have 3 cars to decide between.

I haven't played Xenoblade, do you reckon I'm missing out?

I'm a fanboy of good games rather than any particular console.

I'd say you're a pretty big DS fanboy. Mostly because you own every game on the console.

No more work until the 17th! Thank god. Been a long hellish week. Closed 52 helpdesk calls, while my colleague has closed about 6. Apparently my line manager is having a word with my colleagues (the aforementioned one, and one not in this week) about it Monday. I'd like to think I'd come back and it will have changed, but it won't have.

Oh well, only eight more working days until I go down to two days a week!

I have no idea, dude. It depends what you're into. It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea and I can imagine many feeling overwhelmed by it. I've found it difficult to accommodate it with my lifestyle, but when I do sit down and play it, it is usually for 6 or 7 hours.

Great day at work - smashed the targets, but most importantly there's been this darling lady I've spoken to a few times who has been battling cancer for 7 years. Each time I've spoken to her she's just had chemo that day, so I've just tried to be the nice me that I can be. At the end of today's call she was sad that I wouldn't be calling anymore. Sad thing is she thinks she'll die before we win her case, so I'm going to keep an eye on it as it comes through the post and try to make sure her claim is prioritised.

And apprentice to watch! Awesome. Been watching the Derren Brown specials available on 4oD and I can't get over how awesome the guy is. Some of his tricks you can kinda see how he's doing it but it's just awe-inspiring how he has a diverse range of techniques. He's definitely on my Celebrity Dinner Party list (along with Stephen Fry and Jeremy Clarkson).

Yeah not everyone likes hearing that it's 25% (plus VAT, so yeah, 30%!) of the money you are rewarded goes to us. But we fight for the 8% interest you would've accrued if you had the money in a savings account instead, and also use magic lingo to get compensation - people have missed payments, gone into arrears or whatever and potentially if they had never paid PPI they could've avoided whatever pitfall it was. That compensation usually outweighs the 30% cut we take, and it's not something easily attained without the use of a company that knows precisely what lingo to use.

There is also a lot of work, and that can put people off if they do it themselves. The banks make it as long-winded as possible. Many banks are contacting customers themselves to fill in a questionnaire that is worded in such a way that the bank can say "we did not mis-sell you PPI" even if they did. Also if people deal direct with their banks they risk not receiving the full amount due to them. We do a Subject Access Request and receive a massive bundle of paperwork (reams. Seriously.) that accounts for full financial records for the customer. We then go through every page. The bank has several firewalls in place before they allow the SAR to process, and the bank can say "we have never put PPI on this account" and be wrong.

If you're doing the claim yourself you may stop as soon as you hear "no PPI" and bam. The bank gets to keep the money.

30% sounds a lot, but getting back 70% of your money plus 8% interest plus compensation... well that's better than getting nothing.

Hmm well its interesting to hear where it goes, but I'll see. To be honest not thought about it for months. Maybe I'll just make my accountant (@Ellmeister) do it :heh:

Glad that its going well there though :)

ONE OF MY FAVOURITE NINTENDO WII GAMES HAS STARTED WORKING! I'M SO GODDAMN HAPPY! :D:D:D:D:D

About two months back, my copy of The Michael Jackson Experience stopped working and my Wii kept on saying "Disc error, please put the disc in" and I tried everything and it wouldn't work. Anyway, after buying The Black Eyed Peas Experience (which is seriously hard as nails!), I really wanted to play TMJE so badly so I cleaned the disc for what must have been the tenth time and put it in the console and IT WORKED!

I got to play Ghosts, Bad, Dirty Diana and Beat It again! So very damn happy! On top of this, I've lost 3lb! Today's going to be a good day!

Gonna go out tonight with a mate and his friends who I do not know. Looking forward to it.

This time I won't end up spending the night in a hospital, though. :indeed:

In just over an hour I'm going to my friend's house to crash, and then tomorrow we're off to Annecy (France) for an animation festival!

I'm not sure which I'm more excited about; the holiday or simply not being at work for a week.

Enjoy E3 everyone!

This week is sooooooooooooooooooooooo good. For everyone it seems! Have fun Ashley.

- Today, traded in a load of games at CEX for a very respectable £102, and then purchased a 3DS XL (Blue) from Tesco Direct (to pick up on Monday) with a £10 off new customer promo = £109.

- Exchanged some work shirts and shirt for my sister's wedding that I purchased at M&S last week, as I accidentally purchased too-big a size. They said there was a refund of £10.50 due, I smiled and nodded but wondered WTF was going on as it was a straight exchange for the same products. Walked out and realised they had a 20% off discount day....WIN. So my mistake put me in extra money win time.

- Purchased DKCR3D from Tesco. Saw a work friend (as I always seem to do in Aylesbury). Rifled through her bags.

- Went to Beefeater with Claire. We discussed our upcoming holiday(s) (in England).

- Finally re-watching Girl With A Dragon Tattoo tonight.

- Tomorrow = chill & early night for E3.

- Monday AAAAHHHH E3

- Tuesday Nintendo Video

- Wednesday rest the fuck out. Pray to the golden clouds that The Last Of Us arrives.

- Thursday, going to Nandos, then arcade, then casinos in Luton. The Last Of Us may have arrived. Cry that I won't be able to play it.

- Friday, Man Of Steel. AAAAAAAAHHHHHH super excited. Then The Last Of Us afterwards.

- Weekend THE LAST OF US MEGAPLAY.

So none of this actually happened today, apart from chilling in the garden. As Jim is ill, we had to cancel our test drives and squash (cancelling that for tomorrow as well). Boooh.

But as a good thing, Dexter already arrived! So will probably be watching that tonight. And we have moved the test drives to next Saturday, so it's all goooood. Should be a good week. =)

He shouldn't have jinxed it.

I bet that Nintendo Direct won't happen now, either.
