Going to revisit my college days tonight. Going to see Yellow Card and Less Than Jake, and once that finishes sticking around at the venue for the club night 'Ramshackle' which was a regular Friday night occurrence 12 years ago.

It was an alternative club with indie shit downstairs and metal / nu metal room upstairs. I've heard that it's a complete change of music now, so this could be interesting or depressing.

but still, looking forward to the gig at least.

Just connected my laptop to my TV and am using two screens for the first time.

Welcome to the 21st century drahkon

I'm fascinated that I can now watch porn have lecture slides open on my TV and watch different porn browse the internet for further information on that topic on my laptop.

The doctors say it's possible that my brother in law might get cured completely (he has Luekemia).

Nothing definitive but it's still good news and something that gives us hope :)

Did they already have the hat, and not want to waste it? Or was Margot the first choice name?

Or somebody in Eenuh's family is the world's fastest embroiderer/appliqué-er.

That looks printed, possibly via sublimation.

Oh, and there's a baby in the hat. Niblings are awesome.

They have known the name for a few months already (but kept it secret for everyone except me), so I assume my sister bought that hat herself. =P

The only reason I was told the name was because I had to design the birth card (which I found out is not done in the UK). And because I am awesome of course.

It's a nice name, is it particularly Belgian?

Is the birth card something you give to the parents? Or everyone else? The first is a thing that we do, but the second is not...

Not sure it is particularly Belgian, have heard it in Dutch, French (Margaux) and English, but doesn't seem to be very common.

The birth card is basically posted out to all friends and family, informing them that the baby is born, giving the name, date, hour, weight, length etc. And tells them visiting times in the hospital and home address, phone numbers, and account number so people can give money. =P

And for some people, a small card is included inviting them to see the baby at a certain date, where usually there will be food and they can give presents. =)

Here is what I made for the card (sadly I don't have a printed version yet, booh):

Oh and when people visit, they are given some candy, chocolate covered in a hard sugar coating, usually in a specific colour. My sister made matching boxes, hand sewn bags and glass bottles with animals on top (she had to hand paint the colour on) to give out:

That's incredible. We don't go to anywhere near that amount of effort here! Maybe just a post on Facebook, and before Facebook you had to find out in the newspaper the week after....

I'm assuming Fiere Meter means Mother of Fire, and you are therefore in charge of teaching the infant how to safely light a bbq? Yes.

I can teach her to call me Mother of Fire, that sounds awesome! :D

But it actually means proud godmother, which is a bit less awesome. But still cool.

Going to Belgium on April 18, can't wait! =)

Just noticed they've added Once Upon A Time on Netflix, and it's 2 seasons ahead than what has already been shown on Five (from what I can tell) which is lovely.

Unfortunately it really jumps the shark in season 4.

Hardly surprising really, it can only get so much out of what they current have/reusing Snow White over and over.

She really needs to keep long hair, her ears are huge.

Basically Spaetzle are noodles. Soft egg noodles mostly served in Germany, Austria, Switzerland.

Spaetzle dough consists of very few ingrediengts: Salt, flour, eggs.

This is what it can look like :p

The dough is easy to make, turning it into noodles is tedious, though, without the special equipment (which I don't have) :D

Oh nice, they look like fish bait.

As my man Barney Stinson once said to Lilly:

"One of the twenty-four similarities between women and fish is that they're both attracted to shiny objects."

#21 is:

"Women, just as fish, enjoy food that looks like fish bait."

#7 - the most important one, by the way:

"Both creatures are quite able at the 'sucking motion' with their mouths. This can be put to good use by men. Important: don't confuse women with fish, unless you like getting blown by the latter."

Spaetzle are great, although in my experience they normally look more like this:

than the picture @drahkon posted. But they taste a lot better than they look. :heh: My friend actually has a spaetzle maker, which is kind of like a cheese grater:

Finally fulfilled my dream of owning a piece of original Hamish Steele art. Now to sit back and wait for him to become a famous cartoonist.

And then wait for him to die.

Went into the shed to try and find an old car part so I can replace something on my Scirocco. Didn't find the part, but did end up clearing out the shed and found some old papercraft stuff, so we decided to make them:

Our effort looked more like that, too. But with more cheese and more onions : peace:

It was tasty as hell. And those steaks...I think I've done a good job. Medium and seasoned very well. :)
