Health complaints and hospital visits..

Recommended Posts

In the spirit of new thread creation and discussion this may be a duplicate.. I got as far as page three and couldn't find anything worth bumping!

Ok, so today... I went to see the eye specialist. They gave me a prism to wear on my glasses (you can get perm ones built in but obviously for a trial plastic covers are better) and there's a high likelyhood that I'll need surgery..

Which brings me to the problem. My hospital files. As a few of you already know, I'm a military child. I had surgery as a dependant of a military man and they have my files. My surgeon needs them before they can decide anything.

Which means loads of chasing... I'm no longer even in the country that any of these surgeries were done.

Mega infuriating.

I'm sitting typing this and I can see about 5 of the little YT icons in the toolbar above the space to type this post haha!

So now its your turn to tell me about your health problems!

My back hurts sometimes, less since I switched to my Flintstones bed; essentially a bed with the thinnest mattress imaginable.

Nothing major but I've been fatigued and had a low appetite for the 2 months or so. Also had a couple of nasty throat infections during that time.

Gotta go in for blood tests to see if there's some sort of underlying problem.

My friend has Glandular Fever, a Chest Infection and Bilharzia parasites. That's what he gets for leaving the country to help children in Africa.

Also he is competing against my neighbour's dog, who has a hernia, Obesity, Epilepsy and T.V.S.

Currently 4 - 3 to the dog.

I going to have an operation where my jaw will be broken, slid forwards and reattached with metal plates as oart of my orthodontic treatment.

Also I can't breathe through my nose as I have a bent septum. Will have to have an operation to have that fixed.

Ouch...!

I have very bad neck/upper back issues, having to wait until the doctors at university resumes regular appointments, I can barely sit in an upright chair for longer than ten minutes without hurting.

My legs - I've already had seen too, I get bad pain in my legs when I sit for a while, driving is getting impossible as it hurts to sit in that position for longer than half an hour.

It's a bit like when you're sat down too long but worse and I get it a lot quicker.

I just blame it on me getting old. Haha

Bilharzia? That's one of the most horrible things I've heard about. Insects growing inside your body and when they hatch they hatch out of you skin. Eww.

I got a dental operation once when I was younger. Had to be put to sleep for it. The doctor told me to count slowly to 10... I got to 12.

I'm pretty sure they reside in the liver and the eggs come out of the body through the urine and faeces.

Maybe it is. There's definitely one where they hatch out of your skin too though!

Yes yes yes!! My mum got an email from the Grampian board saying that my detailed hospital information from 1987 is still in existence! woohoo!

Now all we've got to find is the RAF services information from 1988, which might be somewhat harder... because I was treated as a civvy in 87, and as a military dependant in 88.

Dammit who would have guessed that being a RAF dependant would be so difficult!?

And I got the letter in for my......gulp...bumcam :(

Throat surgery isn't fun. It's also not fun having to wait 7 hours in a bed before going to surgery. It's also not fun to be spitting out copious amounts of blood at regular intervals.
