The Amazing Spider-Man

Recommended Posts

It's all about the placement of "the" and objectifying the said word.

"New issue of Spider-Man was shit!"

"New issue of Spider-Man was the shit!"

:)

So in clarification, Hydroman is fucking awesome, and I seriously would love a 3D battle with the water splashing towards the audience. God that would look absolutely glorious.

He's semi-stunning on the Spider-Man ride in Florida, in which water does literally splash/kinda spray at you, when he leans towards you.

I love that ride.

The most random inclusion of Scream, of all the symbiotes, and she does nothing.

I'm painting her as we speak.

Yes?! What dial/sculpt base? Tell me. She's my favourite character I've never seen in an issue (though I just "asquired" the Venom mini-series she debuts in).

Oh! HA! I just bought some from eBay too. I got....(I too havn't read her/them before) I got Venom : Lethal Protector #2-6. Not arrived yet. Coincidence lol.

I'm not using a dial yet, but I've used Mary Marvels upper torso and arms (nice shapely breasts) one of the Legion of Super Heroes box set's legs (a guy), Bizarro's rubble, City of Villains aquatic persons face and Wendigo's hair.

I've done the other "Life Foundation" symbiotes aswell, just gotta make Hybrid and Toxin.

Completely coincidentally, I found this just now, while cleaning out my room (we're redoing bits of the house):

My favourite T-Shirt ever.

I met "Storm", "Rogue" and 'Wolverine" right after putting it on and I loved how the actors were like "Oh no! How dare you!" :D

Emma Stone To Be Offered Mary Jane Watson

13zcr4o.jpg

Sony Pictures Entertainment will imminently offer the role of Mary Jane Watson to Emma Stone, who starred for the studio in Zombieland and Easy A. It's another good role for Stone, who is currently shooting the Tate Taylor-directed adaptation of the Kathryn Stockett bestseller The Help for DreamWorks. She plays Skeeter, the college student who comes home determined to expose the class differences between the matriarchs and their house servants in the South in 1962.

That leaves the four other actresses I mentioned yesterday (with the possibility they could widen the search) for the role of Gwen Stacy. Those contenders are Glee's Dianna Agron, Mia Wasikowska, Georgina Haig and Dominique McElligott. Stacy, played in Spiderman 3 by Bryce Dallas Howard, is a plum part for the first installment of the 3D Marc Webb-directed reboot of Spider-Man, because she is the first love interest of the high school-aged Peter Parker, played by Andrew Garfield. Mary Jane--played by Kirsten Dunst in the Sam Raimi-directed trilogy--becomes more pivotal in the later installments of the Spidey saga.

Emma Stone Is Now Choose To Play Gwen Stacy

Emma Stone has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming Spider-Man film from Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios, it was announced today by Amy Pascal, co-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment and Matt Tolmach, president of Columbia Pictures. Stone has been tapped for the role of Gwen Stacy opposite Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. The film, to be directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and produced by Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin, will begin production in December and will be released in theaters nationwide in 3D on July 3, 2012. The casting continues an association between Sony Pictures Entertainment and the actress, who previously starred in Superbad, The House Bunny, and Zombieland, all for Columbia Pictures; she may currently be seen in Screen Gems’ hit comedy Easy A, and takes a cameo role in Screen Gems’ upcoming Friends with Benefits.

Commenting on the announcement, Tolmach said, “It’s been an incredible journey for us to watch Emma’s star rise as an actress. She is extraordinarily talented and has a very special on-screen spark that is perfect for this role. Given her history with the studio, casting her in one of our most important franchises is a real thrill.”

Webb added, “The chemistry between Andrew and Emma was stunning and made Emma the clear choice. At the heart of the story of Peter Parker is not only the amazing Spider-Man, but also an ordinary teenager who is wondering what he has to do to get the girl. Andrew and Emma will bring everything audiences expect to these roles, but also make them their own. Much to my surprise, it was fun to find out that our choice for Gwen (Emma) is also a natural blonde.”

Emma Stone can currently be seen starring in Screen Gems’ hit comedy Easy A. Next year, she will star in Warner Bros.’ Crazy, Stupid, Love opposite Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling and in The Help, the adaptation of Kathryn Stockett’s bestselling novel; she also takes a cameo role in Screen Gems’ Friends with Benefits and will voice a role in DreamWorks Animation’s comedy The Croods. Stone’s recent credits include Paperman, Zombieland, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, The House Bunny, The Rocker, and Superbad.

Spidey's Mystery Villain Cast

Rhys Ifans announced as the reboot's unnamed bad guy.

Rhys Ifans will play the villain, opposite Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, in the next installment of Spider-Man from Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios, it was announced today by Amy Pascal, co-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment and Matt Tolmach, president of Columbia Pictures.

Commenting on the announcement, Tolmach said, "We have been very fortunate to attract some of the best actors working today to play the villains in the Spider-Man movies, and it is exciting to see that trend continue with Rhys Ifans. After seeing his performance in our upcoming film Anonymous, we're in awe of his talent and think he's the perfect choice to take on this role."

The filmmakers prefer to not reveal which character Ifans will be playing in the forthcoming film.

Can't say I'm at all excited for this film atm! Hope to be when some footage is shown.

One hundred perent agree. Must must must must must be Electro. He doesn't look or seem at all like anyone else but does look a lot like Maxwell Dillon.

He'd be shite though!

They'd either do the "generic savage beast" route, so it's less "silly" - but that's so fucking boring.

And I really think seeing a giant lizard in a labcoat going "lissssssssardsssss will take over the ssssswamp! NYAAAA" would be the death of the Spider-Man franchise. Moreso than Emo Spidey. He's a great comic villain when done well (see "Shed" from this year). But I can't see him translating.

I was hoping that the Lizard would have turned up at some point. Partially because I thought that Dylan Baker (Dr. Connors in the Old Trilogy) deserved a starring role.

CGI Lizard = Fail!

... basically Lizard is fail, because it's the only way they were gonna do it.

The film will still no doubt do really well in terms of ticket sales, but be interesting to see how it turns out.

I'd rather see Kraven than Lizard on film anyday. However, Ifans won't be Kraven. Ever.

I hate the concept of Russian though... Like, smells so much of American irrational hatred of socialists.

Way too soon for a reboot. I like Spiderman but...yawn. There's so much other stuff that should be booted.

It's funny how no one said that about Batman Begins. After all, there were only 8 years between that movie and Batman & Robin !

So, if you do the maths, it would be far more acceptable for this reboot to be released in 2015 rather than 2012 ? :D

Although, he's Russian without it defining him. He's all about jungles and Africa. I liked that they made him Russian (in the 60's), but he was rarely involved in any shite stories about the KGB/snow or whatever. Added.

He actually had his own things to get on with.

The Ultimate (australian) one is cool too. Different type of character though.

Batman and Robin didn't really count. Consider the gap between Returns and Begins instead :heh:
