Ninokuni: The Another World PS3 Version

Quote
Based on a magazine picture that comes from this week’s Famitsu, it seems like the highly anticipated title Ninokuni will no longer be a DS-exclusive, as a PS3 version is in the works as well. There are no signs at this point that the game will be canceled on Nintendo’s portable, so Level-5 is most likely developing two versions of the game. We’ll probably hear more about the DS edition later this week when a Ninokuni press conference is held.

Its real apparently. Pretty big news.

When is TGS and any details?

It was never DS exclusive anyway. From the original trailers, it had always said 'for the Nintendo DS and other platform' or something along those lines so not really unexpected that it would come to the PS3 given Level 5's track record of developing for it.

Still interested in the DS version but with it coming to the PS3, it's certainly something to watch (literally as I'm sure the cutscenes will look fantastic).

Looks lovely. Games like this and Eternal Sonata are perfect for HD. Makes everything that much more vibrant.

so not a remake of Another World, then. Shambolic performance, development community.

Scan details:

When Level-5 announced Studio Ghibli tie-up RPG Ni no Kuni: The Another World for DS in 2008, it made some vague reference to a console counterpart to the game. This week's Famitsu reveals that the console version is for the PlayStation 3.

The magazine doesn't provide details on the PS3 version. But this bit of text should intrigue Ghibli fans: "You'll be able to adventure in a world that has the feel of a Studio Ghibli anime."

The entire point of the two page Famitsu spread on the PS3 version appears to be to show how closely it mirrors the concept art created by Studio Ghibli's master artists. A couple of screens labeled as "game screens" really do look like they were pulled straight out of an animated movie.

The magazine lists the PlayStation 3 version as date and price TBA.

Outside of the revelation of the PlayStation 3 version, Famitsu has a lengthy look at the DS version of the game, which it lists with a Fall 2010 release time period (this delay from the game's original Spring release period was quietly announced last month).

New details include a look at the magic book that comes with the game, and details on the growth system for raising your "Imagine" partner characters. There will be over 300 such characters, who can be mixed and matched to create an original battle team to support main character Oliver.

More Ni no Kuni details are expected later this week straight from Level-5. Perhaps we can look forward to a more specific release time frame for the DS version along with some high res screenshots of the PS3 version.

Is it me or are the characters a bit blurry? They look like they don't fit.

And lol "oi!" Wonder if it means the same thing.

That looks amazing. I like the fact that the protagonist is such a goofy capri-wearing megawimp. His character development should prove interesting

Looks very cool. Heart sank a touch with the RPG battle but the visuals are lovely.

Lol, believe it does.

From the art to the music, this looks really epic. Quite impressive how they managed to capture that Studio Ghibli movie feel into the game.

Seeing as this is Studio Ghibli + Level 5, means that I have to get this.

It does look great! The voice of your toy friend guy is brilliant.

If only anime didn't creep me out somewhat!

Ok so there was nothing in that video that did, but I don't know about the rest of the game.

Yep :(

Getting this simply because it's Level 5 + Studio Ghibli. I'm guessing the PS3 version doesn't come with that book though?

I'm probably going to buy a PS3 just for this. Admittedly, I'm not a big anime fan, but it's irresistable to see what Level-5 can do on a powerful console.

Does het shout "PORNSTAR" at the very end of the trailer?

Also, this looks like a style I'd like Zelda to have crack at.

It's not, but that's what I heard when I watched it too. :D
