How long did it take for people to get the establishing Driftwood Achievement?

I've done the following...

1) Built the bridge (give 750 gold)

2) Killed the Hobbes

3) escorted Rusty from Bowerstone to Driftwood

4) delivered a letter to a carpenter

then i just continued about my business in other places across albion but with no achievement popping up.

I've heard that if you sleep it'll pop up. not tried that yet, as i only read that today.

anyone else struggle with this?

Yeah, it took my achievement a while to pop up. I think it unlocked for me once I became ruler of Albion.

I'm considering re-starting my game, but transferring all these weapons over to a new file. For the reason being, i think this file i have is corrupt. There are a few quests i remember seeing/doing in my original file but since re-starting and having this update, they haven't returned. Which means i cannot get all the Silver Keys, Gnomes or open the Gold Door in the Requim area. Which is a shame really, i was really enjoying the game so far.

The Sam and Max achievement has yet to pop-up, and i've done the quest(s) days ago. I think i know where the corruption took place, and that was in Bowerstone when i saw an orb and it spoke.

First wave of DLC is on it's way.

Understone, the first batch of proper Fable III DLC, will be released on 23rd November, Microsoft has said.

It'll cost 400 Microsoft Points.

Microsoft's Live community man Graeme Boyd tweeted that Understone will be set in a secret underworld beneath Bowerstone. Could this be linked to the gargoyles in Fable II?

Also coming are the Fable III pre-order bonuses: the hairstyle pack for 160 MSP and the five-star dog potion for 80 MSP.

At least there is news now, which is good. Probably be a patch to go along with it, because people are screaming for one to fix some of the big issues.

Cheers H.O.T, much appreciated.

And this Henchman Achievement, jeez it is taking the mick. 10 gold per 5 or so minutes in the co-op mode. Lionhead certainly didn't think of this properly.

But i have heard that you can do it offline with a 2nd account, which i may try. Save the internet really.

Bit of a bump

Understone is up on the Marketplace, for the 400 points it costs i have to say it's good. The Mercenary Shooting Range and Reavers Wheel of Misfortune quests can be re-done at anytime, you just don't get the seals again (except the combat ones that is).

And in case anyone was wondering, no new achievements.

No new achievements... that is random?!

but you say that you can get seals to go towards unlocking all the chests on road to rule?

Hmm.. debating weather it's worth a purchase without the achievements.

If you're asking yourself this question you don't think the content's worth it.

Reaver's Wheel of Misfortune and the Mercenary Camp Shooting Range definitley feel like they were ripped from the main game. Especially the shooting range, that feels like something that should have opened up after you become King.

I havn't visited Understone yet, but i will return my thoughts of this once i do visit.

Murr, the WOM is repeatable. Which means you can earn seals after getting the initial 40 (yes, it's worth 40 seals). So is the shooting range.

Hmm so I finally got the 'Kaboom!' achievement for beating the Mourningwood fort mortar mini-game... only problem is I tried to play the game today and it doesn't get past the loading screen.... it just freezes and all I can do is turn off my Xbox 360. :(

Naturally I Googled it and other players have had the same problem so Lionhead are most likely aware of it, so in theory I could just not play the game until it's patched and then I'd hopefully be able to carry on from where I left off right?

I was toying with the idea of starting again but tbh... I don't really want to, so am I best waiting it out for the patch in the hope that will solve my problem or will I most likley still have to start again

There's still no news on a release of a patch, but there is one in the works that will address many problems with the game.

I've just been playing this game a short while and I'm wondering... does it get better? I am so far a little disappointed... Some things have been over-complicated (changing clothes, will, the pause menu, playing with your dog has become a mini-custcene complete with its own fade-to-black) whilst others have been over-simplified (expressions) and yet on the whole everything is far too familiar. Hollow men, belching, flourishes, fireballs, dog that finds treasure, giant spade that lives in hammer space (where did I get that from this time??). I really feel like I'm just playing some DLC for Fable 2 with slightly dumbed-down controls.

My g/f is currently playing through Fable 2 so I'm getting to see them side by side quite clearly and Fable 3 definitely feels the worse of the two. It even seems inferior graphically. As soon as we got the trailer for this game I was worried it was going to be a rushed cash-in, and now I'm feeling that my doubts were accurate.

It's not that it isn't a fun game, I will keep playing, but I'm just wondering if something's going to come along soon and reassure me.

Funny, I think I posted almost the exact same thing in the Black Ops thread shortly after getting that.

As a side note/question, what are these abilities that pop up on the d-pad? A moment ago I got some bugs which I summoned to my side, and now D-Up seems to be offering me some Time-related ability. I have no idea where these even came from...

They're items, I believe. But there's no inventory so you can't actually see what you have until it appears on the d-pad.

I was really disappointed with Fable 3, it was one of the only games last year I couldn't be bothered to finish. Not that it was a terrible game, but as something of a fall from grace — and having heard the ending is the worst part — I didn't have any desire to continue with it.

All I wanted was Fable 2 but tighter: less performance issues, snappier combat, generally positive tweaks across the board. Instead I found the third game to be a laundry list of bad design decisions, even if they were made with good intentions. It's a real case of simplifying rather than streamlining, a lot of things about it being so 'simple' that they end up being more unwieldy than ever.

The D-pad is used to activate potions. Which are essentially the slow down time and summon dead spells from Fable 2.

I found stuff like changing clothes to be a lot easier then using Fable 2's incredibly slow and clunky pause menu. It also looks (graphically) like it belongs on this generation of consoles (unlike the rather ugly Fable 2).I agree with expressions - it would have been nice to be able to choose what to do. I enjoyed it a lot more than Fable 2, even though it is very familiar.

It is just like fable II, it is the same world essentially, 40 years on. Yes there is a stupid dog that glitches and a spade that appears from nowhere,

I'm playing through again for a second time after making some 'rash' decisions but all in all I do enjoy playing it.

Those abilities pop up are potions that the dog probably found, you can only view them (I think) when in battle and don't have any control of them in menus, also you can't buy wine and beer, only one type, I not sure why but I think they are trying to simplify everything. I never enjoyed the 'start' menu to begin with but then I started getting used to it.

Don't rush as well like I did the first time round, kinda ruined it for me.

If you don't rush it, it is a great title. Otherwise the whole game is done (without collecting everything) within the space of 9 hours. Probably less as well, if you go quicker.

It felt better at the beginning, but the game definetly rushes you through it. I was dissapointed with the end as well. There are parts which are better than FII, but there are parts which are worse than FII. Like for example, why take away the expression wheel. Why do i want to dance with a bloke NPC.

Yeah I didn't get why the took away the expression wheel. Was one of the good aspects of fable II.

When upgrading weapons doing certain thing's i presume you have to have the weapon equipped? also is there anyway to see how far you are to completing the challenges for the weapons?

You need the weapon equipped. You have to go to the level selection to see how well you're doing.

The Lionhead forums keep bringing this up to the development team. Amongst other things as well.

Some of the upgrade augments do take the mickey to earn, i only upgraded 2 or 3 fully. And that was to only earn double, if not triple guild seals.

I don't miss the expression wheel, but that's probably because I've always hated interacting with the non-plot-essential NPCs in the Fable games.

*Patty-cake* "Get this item for me" "Yay, now we're friends!" *Cluck like a chicken* "Lead me by the hand to that place over there" *Kiss* "I have never loved anyone like I love you"

I feel like I'm taking advantage of mentally handicapped people.

That was always a bit daft, but I'm annoyed that if I want the achievement for shaking hands with people, first I have to dance for them, chat to them and pull a hero pose in front of them first.

That achievement is for interacting with 20 people. You don't have to shake their hands.
