MoogleViper Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Ok a couple of weeks ago my mouse started to double click when I only single click. It doesn't do it all of the time but does do it quite regularly. It's really annoying as it will close off more than one window and open things that I don't want to open. Does anybody know what the problem might be? Will I need to buy a new mouse?
Shorty Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Try control panel > mouse > double-click speed, that might have been messed with but I don't see why that would cause your problem really. It's probably just dirty under the buttons, does it feel like the button sticks? You may need a new one unless you can clean it.
MoogleViper Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 Nope it's just about in the middle. I'll have a look to see if I can clean it.
Platty Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Could be getting stuck. Give it a good clean. Mine started doing that a while back and got really annoying so just got a new one
bookmarkmaster Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 It could be that your mouse is not working as well as it could. They do wear out from time to time, so if you've had that mouse for a long time, you might try a different one. Also, there are settings in your computer that change the sensitivity that your computer's operating system has to the actions of the mouse. Perhaps your software has been set to be too sensitive. You can change this through the Control Panel.
Jimbob Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I have the exact problem as you Moogle. I can honestly suggest purchasing a new one. I have cleaned mine and i still have the problem which occurs now and again, but with the addition of non-highlighting text and not clicking anything, then double clicking it.
Happenstance Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Yeah ive had the same problem for quite a while, keep meaning to buy a new mouse but typical me, I never seem to bring myself to buy a replacement for anything unless its actually stopped working.
Nolan Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 My old mouse got really bad about that, it was constantly double clicking or not clicking or clicking and getting stuck down....I raged. Bought a new one and destroyed the old one. Felt good to do.
Raining_again Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 buy a decent mouse and stop eating food at your computer! =P
