Choze Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 (edited) For early 2010. http://www.keephd.com/watch?v=i7KIeD1tNGo Edited May 28, 2009 by Choze
Cube Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 (edited) I can feel the sunshine! Is it wrong that I really want this? Edit: I really wish the HD-only YouTube embedded videos didn't exist. Edited May 28, 2009 by Cube
Ganepark32 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Wondered when SEGA were gonna dig up the old Sonic Drift and bring it to the current gen consoles. I see Sonic's car is based off of the one from that title so there's a piece of nostalgia factor for anyone who liked Drift (and lets be honest, there aren't many who do). I don't know. Could be fun. And why the hell is Sonic in a car in the first place? He's supposed to be able to run at the speed of sound (or at least Megadrive/Sega CD sonic could).
Retro_Link Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 (edited) Anyone else just dislike seeing Sonic characters nowadays! So is this Sega's big announcement, thought that was coming tomorrow. EDIT: Wouldn't the name sound better without the 's' on the end of All-Stars? Edited May 28, 2009 by Retro_Link
ViPeR Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I really wish they'd gone bankrupt after the Dreamcast. Christ they're desperate.
Shorty Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Of course Sonic could run faster, but then he could run faster than anyone so it wouldn't be very fair would it Still... the last few Sonic racing-in-vehicles games have been pretty mind-bogglingly terrible, I won't hold my breath.
Nolan Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I really wish they'd gone bankrupt after the Dreamcast. Christ they're desperate. That's a bad thing to wish for. If SEGA had gone bankrupt we'd likely not have the Yakuza series, they wouldn't have picked up The Conduit, and they wouldn't be publishing for Platinum Games. We wouldn't have Valkyria Chronicles or HotD Overkill. Sure we wouldn't see an over abundance of bad sonic based games, but really no one is forcing you to buy those, and if you don't like them spend your money on perhaps a sega title that deserves it.
flameboy Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I don't care how bad this is. I want it. Have to say I feel the same lol! What's with all these games getting announced the week before E3?!! Seems a bit crazy...although guessing these are the things that won't feature in the conferences and they are trying to whip up a frenzy so people will look for them on the showroom floor.
Emerald Emblem Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 The Games title really shows how much SEGA put all their eggs in one basket.

It makes sense as e3 will be utterly flooded. The hardcore may keep up and especially with conferences but no one else will as they get drowned out. Some companies are holding back info for after. Plus there is GC later in the summer for Europe.
Dan_Dare Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Can't Sonic run faster than a car? S'what I thought straight away. sigh. Remember when sonic wasn't a byword for 'staggering mediocrity'?
Nintenchris Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 No Just no Sonic has had his day.. and it was a long time ago.. someone please tell Sega that
Goafer Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 There's 2 sides to post Dreamcast Sega. The good side: Yakuza, F-Zero GX, Valkyria Chronicles, Outrun, Phantasy Star etc and the bad side: Anything Sonic related. On the up side, Sonic could in theory suit karting more than Mario. The tracks already look better IMHO. I'm not a big fan of powerup based racing though, so I'll probably give it a wide berth.
dwarf Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Well I'd rather a kart game be made with new characters in mind, not some rubbishy ones we don't care about.
Goafer Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 This could actully be interesting. On the one hand, Sega tend to make good racers, but on the other hand they can't make a decent Sonic game to save their lives. Either way, they're going to buck one trend.
Happenstance Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I think the game might actually have got a better reception if it was just called "Sega Allstar Racing", we all know the Sonic franchise just isnt what it used to be. Its like when Sega stupidly called the US version of the Megadrive collection "Sonic's"
dwarf Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Hmm copies stuff from mario kart but looks decent. Power moves are going to kill the game I think. He drifted for a total of 0.5 seconds in that video!
Wesley Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 If it's Sumo Digital then maybe it'll be decent. If it's Sega's Sonic Team then... well...
MATtheHAT Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Thing is, unless its free to download, or got some crazy track making shizzle, then its not going to compete now is it?
