Do console designs matter to you? (Is the N64 black, grey or charcoal?)

Recommended Posts

No way, man. It's the darkest kind of grey you can possibly get, but it's not black. Never in a million years.

Maybe this is new thread worthy...

Yes there is a difference - one is a matt and one is glossy - but they are still both black.

I think we need Eenuhs opinion on this then Fierce will be pwned again. :heh:

Sounds like a plan to me :p

But no doubt he'll swear it was grey when he got it and that it's just magically turned black in the mean time.

Haha yeah I was hoping she might show up!

So it's gone from grey, to dark dark grey, to the darkest of greys... it's black!

Blacks do vary slightly between products, but it's still considered black!

I just asked her, and she confirmed that it is indeed very dark grey.

Thank you, Skypeee.

My answer was indeed dark grey/black. I remember it as dark grey at least. I guess it is supposed to be "black", but because of the plastic it doesn't look as black as some of the recent consoles.

So ehhhh, I guess both answers work. =P

What a cop-out!

Just remember who loves you very much and who spends countless effort and time to make you happy.

Hint: It's not Retro_Link! It's the other LiNk.

Edit: It's fucking grey!

Well that honestly was my answer, dark grey black. XD

Does it really matter? If I were to pick, I'd say it looks dark grey though. =P

A black ipod isn't the same as a black gamecube, or a black car, or a the black keyboard in front of me... but they are still all black!

Are you seriously trusting what Nintendo Europe tell you? :heh:

This is what my N64 always looked like (and still looks like) and I think it is grey.

I think that's pretty conclusive. Girls have better colour palletes or something so we should ask them more.

I trust them to know the difference between dark grey and black - unlike some people I know :p

There we have it:

A line-up of seven stunning, semi-transparent colours - Blue, Green, Orange, Purple, Red, Black and Clear Blue - plus a plain black Nintendo 64... and an exclusive Pokémon Special Edition that's coloured yellow and blue and features a great big Pikachu on the top.

Yep, even Nintendo Europe's (lack of) awesomeness outranks Fierce_LiNks.
