Might pickup SMT4A at that price. Anybody got any thoughts on 7th Dragon?

Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the demo. However, it's probably still there, so worth giving a go before you buy.

It's a good price, the physical version is sold out everywhere and it's around £40... I bought it but I haven't played it yet though I can say one thing for certain; with Yuzo Kushiro involved, the soundtrack should be nothing short of spectacular. :D

Figured I would mention it here as you guys were talking about it but Shopto have just got both 7th Dragon and SMT4A both in stock (£29.86). I've been after 7th Dragon for ages now but wasn't really fussed about SMT. Still, I ended up ordering them both. :D The orders are taking a while to process so i'm hoping it's not a mistake or something....

Thank you! :D

As it happens, I still had it on back order from when I placed it figuring I would wait before I got the second hand copy, so it looks like I've got a sealed one for the collection but I went for SMT IV Apocalypse as well for that price. :)

The orders took about 10 - 15 mins to process for me as well, but all sorted now.

I'd been looking at the 3DS Adventure Time games. Quite a big price drop on Investigations. Both significantly cheaper than physical as far as I can see.

Yeah, me, too. Investigations is a far better game than Secret of the Nameless Kingdom. So, my Wii U might have its swansong in the land of Ooo.

Given the utter silence on here I guess nobody else downloaded and played Team Kirby Clash? I've been playing it on and off since the Direct and I love it. The game is Free To Play but I haven't spent a penny on it yet and have got loads out of it.

It plays exactly like the mini game from the 3DS game. You pick between a mage, sword fighter, hammer user and healer and set about taking on a boss battle. You can play with friends locally or let the AI help you out. You can also look for fighters who have played the game online. It will then download these to your game and allow them to fight with you for a few matches. I did this today and @RedShell popped into my game. I guess it grabs people from your friends list, which is nice.

You have a stamina bar at the top of the screen. This is how many times you can play the game before you need to wait for it to recharge. This can be speeded up by buying books from the shop with the in game currency. It also replenishes every time Kirby levels up, which will happen a lot. I think on my first go of the game I went up something like 10 levels ( 50 is the max ) before I ran out of stamina. The more you level up, the higher your stamina bar gets, which means more play time per session.

The in game currency is represented by apple gems. You can harvest apples every 12 hours. These are used for buying weapons or unlocking new stages.

You can also earn apple gems by completing the in game achievements. There are over 200 of these to complete, so you will have plenty of gems to go around, especially early on.

Like other Nintendo FTP games it seems there is a max of how much you can spend. I think it's something like £28 and then that will be your apple gem tree sorted. Didn't a Pokemon FTP game do this as well?

There are also 3 different gems to collect. Red blue and yellow. These are also needed to upgrade your weapons and armour but they are obtained from beating bosses or scanning amiibo. I'm gutted I don't have the new 3DS as I could have made a killing with my amiibo collection. :D

From what I can see, playing on certain days nets you better rewards. The other day I nabbed extra yellow gems and I think tomorrow has an increased rate from the red ones.

All of this probably sounds very complicated and messy but it's really not. If you love you some Kirby then give it a download. : peace:

TBH, anything with the FTP setup is a big massive turn-off for me. It's a shame, because I loved the mini-game in Planet Robobot.

I suppose I'll give it a chance. Maybe I could convince @Dcubed and his sister to have a bash with me.

So there's no proper online multiplayer? I think I'll pass. I'm more interested in the isometric game they showed.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed by the lack of online multiplayer but I suppose it's kinda expected.

I've been following the reviews of Kamiko which is due out this week on the Switch. In a couple of the reviews it was mentioned that the guys who made the game also made Fairune 1 and 2 on the 3DS. Seeing as I can't play Kamiko, and Fairune is only £1.99 on the eShop, I decided to give it a whirl and see what this developer has to offer.

The game looks like a more colourful version of the original Zelda. You play as a girl who travels around the overworld, top down style, just like Zelda. The map of the overworld is displayed on the top screen of the 3DS and this fills out as you enter new areas.

The battle system, if you can even call it that, is quite unique. At the very start of the game you have no weapon, so when you run into enemies they just bounce you around the area or block you off. The game doesn't allow them to do damage at this point. Shortly after the start of the game you will come across a sword and its then you can start making your way around the overworld.

You have 2 bars/meters for your character. One of them is your health and the other is experience. To gain experience you simply run into enemies. There is no battle screen or fighting menus, you just run into them and they die. While you gain experience points, you also lose health at the same time. If there is an enemy at a slightly higher level than you, you will gain a little more exp but lose a lot more health. Enemies that are a few levels above you will block your path and do damage to you, but you cannot defeat them. This is how the game kind of gates you off from areas.

You gain a mana stone early on in the game that allows you to plant health tree points at various parts of the maps and even in the dungeons. What this means is that you can plant this, kill a bunch of enemies and then quickly recharge your health. Rinse and repeat this method and you have a good way of leveling your character up and making progress very quickly.

Once you are above the levels of the enemies you can kill them without taking any damage and this is key to making progress in narrow dungeons. If you don't level up, then you will take damage quickly and probably end up dying. This isn't a major issue because if you do die you still keep the exp earned and the game will just send you back a little gravestone on the overworld.

The game has a Metroid/Zelda type feel to it. As you level up you will unlock more and more of the overword. You will also then find more and more items to use. These items can be used to clear various paths on the map and, just like Zelda and Metroid, you get that lightbulb moment where you remember something you saw earlier and then you race back to it with your new item, which ends up unlocking a new path to take.

The game looks, plays and sounds great. Some of the tunes are really catchy and simplistic visual style used really adds to the charm of the game. The game doesn't overstay it's welcome and can be clocked in a couple of hours. I ended up finishing it in a single sitting as I found it to be so good.

Honestly, I think I got a massive bargain at the price of £1.99. I highly recommend people give it a go and i'll be looking to pick up the sequel very soon. If this game is anything to go by, then those with a Switch are in for a treat with Kamiko.

Here's a trailer for those who interested.

I've been continuing to put more time into Team Kirby Clash Deluxe. I've managed to reach level 27 and got a stupidly good weapon at the moment. I came across some crystals which allow you to upgrade you weapons to DX versions. I nabbed 3 of them the other day and have been destroying bosses and getting platinum ranks ever since. I'm still loving the game.

I ended up buying Fairune 2 last night. I enjoyed the first game so much that I figured I would snap up the second one straight away. This left me with a bit of cash over so I decided to buy a VC game. I have never played Mole Mania or Kid Icarus: Myths and Monsters, so it was a toss up between those. I went with Kid Icarus.

There's plenty to keep me busy with the old 3DS. :D

I've started playing this as well. (You've probably noticed that though)

Honestly, I'm not sure how people can stand playing this by themselves. After the first set of fights, there's a whole bunch of barriers thrown up to impede decent progress. Using Gem Apples to get better weapons? Now you don't have enough to open the next boss. Typical microtransaction based bull really.

The only way this becomes even remotely tolerable is the fact I've been playing the entirety of this game with @Ugh first aid.

Only the host uses up Vigour, so whenever one of us runs out, we just switch to the other person. So that's not an issue.

And because she mains Doctor Healmore (Computer AI sucks with Doctor Healmore, BTW), I don't have to use up my Apples buying equipment for that class. In return, she doesn't have to bother with Sword Hero stuff.

So I'd only recommend this game if you have friends.

Thanks for the review, H-o-T. You've put Kamiko and the Fairune games on my radar.

If I recall correctly, that's quite a bit more challenging than the 3D Classics version of the original. It doesn't have the same inverted difficulty curve, but gets difficult later on.

Always happy to put some hidden gems on the radar of others. Here's hoping you enjoy them should you decide to purchase them.

I fired up Fairune 2 earlier. Gameplay seems to be the same but the map is a lot bigger. No doubt this will last longer than the original, which would explain the increase in price. I'm looking forward to diving further into the game.

I forgot to say, this reminds me of a game I played called Legend of Dark Witch (by CIRCLE Entertainment). Not in terms of genre, just in terms of value. There wasn't a great deal to the gameplay, but it was so playable and very cheap. I didn't buy the sequel because I didn't feel the need for more, but it was a nice little platformer.

I've ploughed a load more time into Team Kirby Clash Deluxe over the past couple of days. I'm now rank 38 and have platinumed all of the stages I've got unlocked. I've also bought level 10 gear for all of the types of characters and upgraded a few of them to DX levels.

Some of the later missions are starting to cost quite a few gem apples to unlock. The one I need to unlock next costs 150! I'm gonna have to wait a few days to gather enough apples. In the meantime I'll just continue to level up and unlocking the achievements.

Speaking of achievements, I see there are some for playing locally. I'm gonna have to go steal my mates 3DS and use that to grab those achievements. I'll just stick to the easier missions and have my mates 3DS stand idle, while I fight the boss.
