Quick question regarding buying a used iPhone

Recommended Posts

Barrghhh really don't know where to post this. A mate of mine has an original iPhone that I've expressed an interest in. Neither of us really know how much it would go for normally; how much should I look at offering him for it? It's simlocked, used, out of warranty.

Cheers!

Yes, as have I. Forums too are a good place for gathering this information. I looked on eBay and found very little information. Less of the crap, please.

Yeah, that does have some bearing. I could probably get mates rates on it, but I fancy getting a general idea of how much something like that would go for so I can judge how much I think he'd knock off of it :heh:

As EEVILMURRAY said, go for half the price. I normally wouldn't do that with a friend but since it's locked, out of warranty, and in used condition, it deserves that price.

Has your friend ever heard of Google or eBay? Very handy tools.

Can't see how ebay wasn't helpful.

Most common price is approximately £180 for a used sim locked.

I bought a 2G iPhone (8GB) about 3 weeks ago. On eBay...£200 unlocked with not a scratch on it and still in warranty.

Ppl are all like "you been ripped off" and "omg...my Nokia 6600 has better features"...

Tbf they are just whiney bitches, this phone is incredible and I'd have paid up to £250. And seeing as 3G didn't matter to me, I'm more than happy. iPod touch + Phone = brilliant.

Therefore 200 is what I've found to be the norm. Locked maybe is cheaper but not by much considering jailbreaking can unlock them I'm sure.

Well we need a few more facts really:

1) What size memory? 8gb, 16gb, or 32gb?

2) I think you say it's first gen, is that right?

3) What condition is it in?

8gb, 1st gen, good condition, aye.

Thanks for the help people.

"I'll give ya seventy-five pounds for it, take it or leave it."

And then when he says that's too low;

"Ok. Ya fuckin' twistin' my arm. One hundred."
