Papa Bear Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Hey sorry if this has been posted before. I've been trying to get my Wii connected to the internet and so far it's been an 8 hour struggle!!! I've had plenty problems but i think i've managed to single it down to changing the channel of my wireless router. I've tried typing my PC's IP address into my web using Internet Explorer, but no luck. I have a Netgear router with 3 other laptops using the connection, but tbh i don't even know if this is relevent!! Any help on how to change my wireless router's channel to either 1 or 11 (as reccomended by other websites) would be much appriciated! And again, sorry if this has been posted before but im getting impatient, i'm dying to play Mario Kart online! Thanks.
Ten10 Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Its different from router to router, but its most likely doable from where under wireless options you can change the router's SSID (what the router shows up at when you search for available networks) Nevermind just reading your post again looks like you've got everything all wrong. You don't need to type in your pc's IP addy anywhere, just the one for the router. The default IP address for a netgear router is http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 Username: Admin Password: Password
Papa Bear Posted March 6, 2009 Author Posted March 6, 2009 Hey mate, cheers for that. I called up netgear tday and it turns out that was exactly the problem, i typed in the router's IP addy and managed to set it right. Havent been off mario kart since! Cheers bud.
