EU power chord in NTSC Wii?

I was wondering if I can plug in an European power chord in an American Wii?

 

Or do I have to use the American power chord + an adapter?

 

Eventually - will an European power chord + an adapter work?

Ok, so I asked Nintendo and here's what they said:

 

 

Dear Foxen, thank you for your e-mail.

 

This will not be a problem BUT it will not change the Wii output from NTSC to be compatible with the PAL TV system in use over here. It will need an NTSC compatible TV set to play into. Also it will not play games bought in Europe.
