Kirkatronics
I haven't logged in for a while and i find im banned from all VAC servers, i've never cheated or done anything aginst the rules. Is there a way to become un-banned again? Anyone have any experience with this?
Nolan
I haven't had experience with it, but your best bet is going to be email Valves support. Be polite and don't make a fool of yourself, and state your case clearly.

Ramar
Sounds like someone may have stolen your account and used some hacks whilst logged in. Being involved in the source scene, I know Valve a pretty unforgiving and you're account will probably stay Vac-Banned.
Emasher
I'm not sure how Steam works, but couldn't you just create a new account using a proxy?
McPhee
You can create a new account without a proxy, they don't mind you coming back. All of your games are attatched to your Steam account though, you heave to rebuy them...
nightwolf
I'm not sure how Steam works, but couldn't you just create a new account using a proxy? Yeah because that'll be helpful for his case if he cheats his way back. Ask them for advice on the situation, see if you are indeed allowed to come back with another account. Emasher
But is it really cheating his way back in if he never did anything wrong in the first place? I more meant if they declined his request.
Raining_again
linky and linky (which were both VERY easy to find on google by the way *cough*) doubt they are likely to care if you reregister tbh. you wont get any of your games back tho. MBenZ
hmmm, I've never heard of people being banned from steam for inactivity. Something very suspect, indeed.

Charlie
Well if you didn't cheat they have no reason to ban you. If you have games which can only be played on VAC servers (not sure if that is possible) then by not letting you play on them Valve are essentially stealing your money. Contact Trading Standards and get advice from them (for free).
Fried Eggs
If you go on the Steam forums you'll find hundreds of people like you claiming the same thing. Most of them are lying and nobody believes them. I feel bad for you since you seem legitimate. I'm afraid there's nothing you can do to get unbanned. MadDog
Surely if you email them explaining your case they will unban you?
McPhee
Nope, it's in the T&Cs that once you're banned you are banned. The security of your account is your responsibility, not Valve's. It sucks a bit, but that's what you sign up for when you take out a Steam account.

Personally i believe it was my brother, but he won't admit it. I know he got banned for cheating.

Raining_again
Wow thats harsh Not really, it's in the T&C's when you sign up. If you get banned you haven't got a case whatsoever, and that is specified on the links that I posted earlier. That's what you get when you let idiots use your username - intentional or not. MadDog
No but its harsh that he didn't do anything wrong, and hes been banned
Raining_again
No but its harsh that he didn't do anything wrong, and hes been banned I don't think you quite get the idea of terms and conditions It means its your issue, not theirs. No excuses no comebacks. Its like a legal contract - and he broke the rules. End of.
McPhee
No but its harsh that he didn't do anything wrong, and hes been banned He did do something wrong, he failed to keep his own account secure. That is Valve's point of view, and once which you agree to when you take out an account. It's unfortunate, but it's something they had to do to keep their platform secure. If exceptions were made then people who were actually doing wrong would easily slip through the net.
Kirkatronics
I did think they would have this policy, i accept its my fault my account was breached. Thanks for trying to help, i am grateful. I accept its harsh but its there to protect players who make sure their account is secure, and don't cheat. McPhee
It sucks really dude, but it's the unfortunate way software is going Everything has to be secure to stop 'bad' people and it always ends up screwing over good customers
MadDog
Well i'm not saying he should be unbanned. I was just saying that i feel sorry for him. That he had been banned for no reason of his own.
