Charlie Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 This is a quick tip we’ve just picked up for anyone looking for an iPhone. o2 have dropped the price on the 8GB model £100 today from £269 to £169. To top this up we’ve got huge o2 cashback right now with £100 Quidco cashback - this only runs for another 5 days though! The rumour is that Apple may be coming out with a 3G version in a month or two which is why there is price cutting happening now. However if you don’t care about waiting for a 3G version then we’d say jump on this deal now! Please note that o2 takes a 2-3 days to track in so please don’t panic if you don’t see the cashback show on your Quidco account right away! **PLEASE NOTE** Cashback will only be paid on connected contracts. ********* http://www.quidco.com/blog/?p=161 Great deal for that price if you were wanting an iPhone. I'm very, very tempted...
Ten10 Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 The price you pay each month on the contract sucks though. Its like your being charge twice just for the privilege
Guest bluey Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 yeah i'm not getting an iphone till the contracts are a bit better... its a niiiiiice machine though... bluey want O___o i have a touch and a little nokia mobile - when i get back to the UK i'ma just duct tape 'em together
Will Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 The iPhone tarrifs really aren't that bad, the minutes/texts aren't vastly lower than other tarrifs and people seem to forget that they have £15 worth of internet bolt-ons included.
dazzybee Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I want to do it, but I just don't understand how it works!!!
Ten10 Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 The idea is that you pay the full amount now. Once all the transactions have been processed you will get £100 cash back to say thank you for being tied into probably an 18 month contract.
dazzybee Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 But why do you get the money from quidco? Also, does anyone know how it works if you already have a contract with 02?
Ten10 Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Quidco is the web's cashback cooperative. Quidco collects referral commissions from online merchants and passes them all on to our members. The Quidco cooperative is a cashback revolution where members keep their full earnings in exchange for giving Quidco £5 out of their earnings once a year. The Quidco model works for both the merchant and you. It enables the merchant to reach a large base of motivated savvy buyers and it enables you to get back big savings by buying from merchants who participate in the model. Basically they have a deal right now with the Merchant (O2) to give extra cash back when buying an Iphone. They can afford to do this because they will easily make back more money through the contract.
dazzybee Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Is it only online then? So I can't go into o2 tomorrow and buy it then contact quidco to get the £100 refund? I'm really tempted but I don't want to get fucked over.
Ten10 Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 No Quidco can only track online orders as it uses cookies to track the transactions. Even if you finish a transaction that you started online on the telephone or in a store it would not count.
kyletherobot Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Quidco is completely reliable, I can vouch for it. Never been fucked over once by it.
McPhee Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 And another vote for Quidco, brilliant site. They make money by pocketing the first £5 that each user makes in a year, so if your new you'll only be getting £95 back
