Adrian DX Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 So, this might not interest THAT many members on this forum, but I personally feel this deserves a thread =) Guitarist and Vocals - Tom DeLonge Bass and Vocals - Mark Hoppus Drums - Travis L. Barker Today (22. Feb. 2008), it's 3 years since blink-182 announced on their homepage that they would go on an indefinite hiatus to spend more time with their family (which was just a lie not to upset the fans too much). I almost dare say that I love this band more than life itself. I've been listening to them nearly every single day since I was nine years old. And it still hurts me that they're not around playing live shows and making music together anymore. And the worst part is I never got to see them live =( So what are your relations to this band? Anyone seen them live? Anyone here who might play a song or two of them a week? Bring your stories etc!
Cube Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 All I have to say is that Angels And Airwaves and +44 are complete wank.
Hellfire Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Time flew by! Could it be because I don't give a shit? Probably. I jest, a lot of their songs bring good childhood memories.
Intensity Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I didnt like them at all tbh. However, Travis Barker is an awesome drummer
jayseven Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Blink 182 remind me of this house party... basically my best friend ended up sharing a bed with the host of the party - his girlfriend's best friend... And the next morning the host came to me and was all "omg he touched me" and I was like "well DUH what did you think was going to happen" and the girlfriend was downstairs playing Blink on a CD player all sad and tearful... It sparked a 9-month weirdness, i can assure you. Huge meta-triangles of complexity to do with trust and knowledge, usually with me in the middle. Good times, good times.
killthenet Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 They actually started to become okay on their last album. "Feeling This" is a pretty badass song and "I Miss You" is pretty nice too. They definately should have stuck together and not wasted their lives with +44 and Angels And Airwaves, both bands being far worse than even Blink 182 ever were.
somme Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 "All the small things" was all right when it was released. Everything else they did was awful. The later stuff made my ears bleed.
Guest Jordan Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Blink went from a reasonably good punk pop band into something disgracefully emo. Their last album was... fucking terrible.
BeerMonkey Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 im a fan of blink182 got most of there albums +44 are alright i guess AVA are b0llocks
Portlett Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 was never a fan tbh, but they were better than angels and airwaves and + 44, i mean wtf +44 what kinf of a name is that? I saw angels and airwaves at leeds fest and they were awful, the singer (guy from blink) just kept o preaching everyone about how he gets up everyday and runs....
Adrian DX Posted February 22, 2008 Author Posted February 22, 2008 +44 is the UK country code... Ayup, Mark chose the name +44 because its the UK country code, and he really likes the UK and the fans blink had there. --- haha, nice story jayseven xD
Mokong Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I liked them, i felt their last album was their best, saw them live once in Dublin...can't remember when, was after the last album came out...so prolly their last tour, whenever that was? Was a good show though EDIT: Irelands code is +353
Letty Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I do not like them, and I never liked them. : /
Guest Stefkov Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I have a selection of their songs. Their music is good but I'm not really a fan.

Was a good show though Woah... Then its actually possible you saw their last show ever. 2004.12.16 - blink-182 Live @ European Tour (2nd Leg) '04, The Point Theatre, Dublin, Ireland, UK was their last show ever. I was actually planning to go to the show two days before (2004.12.14 - blink-182 Live @ European Tour (2nd Leg) '04, Carling Academy, London, UK) But my mom said that we could wait till' next year and said something along the lines of "Its not like they're gonna stop playing". Ironic...
Guest bluey Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 ....*heh* i hadn't noticed they'd gone at all O__o
Shorty Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 *sniff* the hole Blink left in my heart may never be filled. I can't believe it's been 3 years. </sarcasm>
