somme Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 I gave my band's demo to a DJ on a local radio station http://www.phoenixfm.com and they've apparently gotten a lot of good feedback and people wanting to know who we are so I've been invited to be a guest on the Saturday night show from 8-10! I'm quite excited. The song which they've been playing is: And We Hope.
The fish Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Ooh, congrats! I listened to some of your stuff when you posted it on here a few weeks back, I remember it as being pretty damn good! I wish you the best of luck!
AshMat Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Nicely done, i loved your stuff too. *liked them before they were famous*
ipaul Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Nicely done, i loved your stuff too.*liked them before they were famous* And therefore much more a truer and hardcore fan than any forthcoming fans can ever hope to be =P Nice bit of promo there, good work (Y)
AshMat Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 SO HARDCORE I'm bigging you guys up to everyone up till saturday, to mates, myspace bulletins, etc.
Gizmo Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Hmm I quite like the song though it's not usually my genre. Reminds me a bit of Placebo.
somme Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 SO HARDCORE I'm bigging you guys up to everyone up till saturday, to mates, myspace bulletins, etc. Thanks a lot We'll give you backstage passes and free booze when we start playing Britxon haha
jayseven Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Nice song.. I'm not sure if I commented on it the last time you posted? Well yeah, I think it's a bit like Electric Soft Parade. Better tahn a lot of the trash on the radios these days so let's hope it does better!
somme Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 Influenced by Placebo, much? Never a bad thing. I taught myself to sing by listening to Without You I'm Nothing at the age of 13 constantly lol. So there's still a twang there hehe. People generally tell me my voice annoys them less than his though lol.
AshMat Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 I think Somme's voice is.. 'softer' than Brian Molko's, definitely less irritating if you listen to it a lot.
Owen Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Hmm I quite like the song though it's not usually my genre. Reminds me a bit of Placebo. I was thinking the samething! It is like Placebo, which is no-bad thing and i agree with the voice being less irritating, it's quite soothing! Not my type of music, but it doesn't sound 'novice' at all and you sound like a band, so well done! AND your based near me, which is kinda cool!
AshMat Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 A reminder to all, he'll probably be on in the next couple of minutes.
somme Posted February 10, 2008 Author Posted February 10, 2008 It went very well There was a guy listening who liked us very much and said he'd "pull some strings" with another guy who runs a record company. apparently he used to work on the same radio station we were on so here's hoping something comes from that!
killthenet Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 That the guy who own's Transgressive? That's quite a contact you've made.
AshMat Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I listened to most of it, had to go to get something to eat, only missed 15 minutes. Good show, should've interview you some more though, i was in the stickam chat watching you guys too =P
