Who would you invite to dinner? Dead or alive.

Recommended Posts

Who would you invite to your ideal dinner party? Guests can be dead, alive, fictional or real. You can choose up to 10, and give reasons for your choices if possible.

1. Sir Winston Churchill - some great debates to be had, and he would say a brilliant after dinner speech.

2. Sir Paul McCartney - one of my favourite musicians, and I'm sure we would all sing a bit of 'Hey Jude' afterwards.

3. Darth Vader - must have someone evil present (for balance) and I don't think he can eat, so more food for everyone else!

4. Robin Williams - life and soul of the party.

5. Shigeru Miyamoto - innovative, and we could play some Wii Sports afterwards!

6. Jeremy Clarkson - 100% entertainment.

7. Jesus Christ - enough said, if he turns up that is. Plus he could just make the food appear from thin air, so no need to splash out on a cook.

8. Solitaire - sexiest Bond gir imol, as played by Jane Seymour in Live and Let Die. Would make good eye-candy if I got bored.

9. Tom Hanks - one of my favourite acotrs, and he seemed like a laugh on Jonathon Ross last week.

10. Michael Parkinson - he's meet everyone, so would have a lot of stories to tell.

I would invite:

1. Noel Gallagher - without Oasis, I wouldn't be the man I am now.

2. Jimi Hendrix - One of the coolest guys ever to have lived. :)

3. Arnold Schwarzeneggar - He's played one of best movie villains of all time, and then got to play one of the greatest movie heroes in the sequel. Very unique to do a role reverseal, but he can say he's done it, and with style. Such an immense career and a very funny guy as well.

4. Sylvester Stallone - I think this guy is under-rated. He's made some shit, but he's also made two of the greatest film icons as well: Rocky Balboa and John Rambo. How can you argue with that?

5. Ryan Giggs - Imo, the finest Welshman to have ever lived. Great footballer, and he is loyalty personified.

6. Sir Alex Ferguson - How can a man stay at the top for so long, and then keep pushing the standard? He's immense.

7. Chris Kamara (haha) - Funny as fuck guy, he would definitely have us roffling. "UNBELIEVEABLE, JEFF!"

8. James Dean Bradfield - Lead singer of the Manic Street Preachers, who are one of my favourite bands of all time. Great voice, good guitarist, and many famous lyrics throughout his life-time.

9. Brad Wilks (from RATM) - A fucking great drummer. Love this guy to pieces. For me, he is the soul behind RATM.

10. Johnny Cash - A legend, and it would just be a pleasure to sit at the same table as him.

Hmm... so we can have fictional too? Okay, so, here goes:

#10 - António Lobo Antunes. One of my favourite writers, and my favourite Portuguese person. This man is a god, as far as I'm concerned.

#9 - Dr. House and Dr. Cox (Scrubs), so I could have the most enjoyable time of my life watching those two argue their hearts out.

#8 - Stephen Hawking... wisdom personified. Plus... for lulz.

#7 - Hayao Miyazaki. Most interesting artist ever, dare I say.

#6 - Tom Waits. For being everything I one day wish I could be.

#5 - Björk. If you don't get this one, I'm not even gonna bother explaining it.

#4 - Stanley Kubrick, for being such a persistent inspiration and guiding light. The man was flawless, and I'd love to hear his wise words.

#3 - Tyler Durden from Fight Club, as portrayed by Brad Pitt. Smartest (street smart) and most cunning individual ever. Plus, he has the ultimate life philosophy.

#2 - Masami Akita AKA Merzbow. The most genious person on the planet, if you ask me. Pure brilliance.

#1 - Claire Fisher from Six Feet Under, as portrayed by Lauren Ambrose. I have a crush on her, even if she doesn't exist. Just my favourite character ever in anything. I absolutely love her, and the thought that I'll never even get the chance to co-exist near "her" makes me somewhate sad and depressed. The one I wish I could share my life with.

*massive sigh*

#8 - Stephen Hawking... wisdom personified. Plus... for lulz.

He gave a presentation at my school (it's his old school), and a couple of people in my year ended up having dinner with him and the headmaster. I suppose if I really wanted to eat with him I could go to Caius formal hall...
