About Baroque

You awaken to find the world in ruin, your heart beset with unexplained guilt. A cataclysm has destroyed the cities and empires of men and disfigured the spirit of humanity. In this nightmare, it falls to you to descend a mysterious tower in search of absolution. Battle merciless foes through treacherous dungeons, scour for new items to aid you in your travels, and unlock the secrets of a devastated land. You will find death in the depths, yet learn that death is not the end of the story; in the twisted world of Baroque, it is only the beginning.

The more RPG's the better, I don't have a clue what to expect and the fact it was on PS2 bodes for the worst, but with so few RPG's currently on the table I ain't gonna moan.

Will check this out at some point.

Agreed. The trailer looks pretty, purely because of the anime sequences, but that says nothing about the game. I do want to see some RPG's. On the bright side, Atlus has a pretty good handling of the Wii.

Looks interesting, just too bad Atlus is the publisher. Half of their games are never released in Europe.

Atlus isn0t just the publisher they're the developers, so the game is bound to be awesome.

EDIT: OK actually it's Sting. Still, almost everything, if not everything Atlus publishes is awesome.

Even better, Sting made the awesome Riviera: The Promised Land for GBA and PSP(port)

This gets my vote. I was thinking this is a bit of an advanced riviera even the main character looks a bit like Ein. And then I saw the name of the developer at the end being Sting. So based on that I know this will be a good RPG.

Also, the title came from the portuguese word Barroco :P

Now we just need a game called Rococó. :heh:

The trailer doesn't show much, but since Riviera was a pretty good game, I'll have faith in them. Hope to hear more.

Reading that its a "dungeon crawler" instantly makes me wary of it. However I own Riviera, and its a quality little game, so I won't rule this out. I wish we got more of these Atlus games in Europe though- Yygdra Union for one, was a game I had hoped to see on shelves round these parts.

Looks good, Atlus is not being half assed about this, for sure; now they ought to confirm it to Europe though, but it's looking good.

Baroque supports the Classic Controller.

Atlus` new dungeon-crawler supports classic controls in addition to the Wiimote/Nunchuk combo.

Last week, we reported on Atlus` plans to remake their Sega Saturn dungeon crawler Baroque for the Wii. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the player must traverse a bleak and merciless world to discover why devastation has claimed the world of men. The player must descend a mysterious, ever-changing tower teeming with vile beasts in order to make progress.

Atlus have announced that not only will the Wii version of the game support the Wii Remote and Nunchuk control scheme, but it will also be compatible with the Classic Controller aswell. Whether this also means the GameCube controller will be compatible remains a mystery.

Stay tuned to N-Europe for the latest on Baroque.
