PlayStation 3 Console Discussion

Hmmm. I've decided I'm not going to buy any more ps3 games. PS+ is way more than enough to cover my gaming needs... Sick of buying games and then getting to play them for free anyway!

Does anyone know if I can change my DNS settings to make my UK PS3 think I'm still in the UK when I move to Canada? I want it so I can still use the amazing BBC app for Olympics. If someone could tell me UK DNS settings that would be awesome as my PS3 is now all packed up.

Here is a very good guide: link

NB you will need to pay for a VPN service (e.g. Hidemyass) which are usually a few dollars a month as a decent VPN costs money. Don't bother with any free ones.

It’s Summer!! The time of year when the sun comes out to play and we can enjoy late nights, early mornings and lots of fun. And of course, for us gamers what it really means is a lot more time to play games, so what better time to introduce the PlayStation Store Summer Sale?

This year, PlayStation Store brings you some outstanding offers on over 50 titles. Starting on the 1st August, the PlayStation Store Summer Sale (or Winter Sale for all our readers shivering away over in Australia and New Zealand) runs all the way to 5th September 2012. With full Blu-ray games, PlayStation Network titles, PS3 add-ons, PS one Classics, PSP games, minis and movies included, there’s bound to be something here to tickle your fancy.

The deals include big savings on the likes of LA Noire Complete Edition (was €39.99, now €23.99, with an additional 15% off for Plus members) and Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete Edition (was €24.99, now €17.99, with an additional 25% off for Plus members), but keep your eyes on the PlayStation Store for full details on what’s on offer.

But that’s not all!

As well as having loads of awesome content on offer throughout August, we will also be offering seven Summer savings. These deals will each be on offer for four days only, with a new deal replacing it. The dates to remember:

Deal 1 – 1-4 August

Deal 2 – 5-8 August

Deal 3 – 9-12 August

Deal 4 – 13-16 August

Deal 5 – 17-20 August

Deal 6 – 21-24 August

Deal 7 – 25-28 August

We’ll be kicking off these savings with FIFA 12 at €29.99/£19.99 (was €69.99/£54.99), while PlayStation Plus members will also get FIFA EURO 2012 DLC for no extra charge with their purchase of FIFA 12.

I suppose I should give DS2 a try. I only lasted a few levels before I got bored.

Also, two more games on the 15th.

So my PS3 has stopped reading blu ray films but still reads DVDs and PS3 games.

Just tried a file restore which didn't fix it.

Is my PS3 fat screwed?

I have tried a few different things and once or twice a blu ray film has worked and other times it doesn't. :/

SOLVED After trying everything possible I have worked out what is the problem... my Casino Royale bly ray! That would never load and I tried it round @Aneres11 house and it wouldn't work there either. Also what had me confused and thinking was the console was other films were not working... HOWEVER the other films were not working because whatever blu ray I put in after Casino Royale failed to load would not load either! But any other time would load fine.

My Casino Royale used to work (it's the first edition of it when it first come out) but now, for whatever reason if fucked. And no scratches, cracks or marks on the disc either.

Late to the party but inFamous is complete on the Hero run along with all the missions dead drops, shards, stunts and hero powers. Awesome game. Will do a run of Uncharted 3 on hard before getting the sequel and the evil run. Chances are Infamous will be my first platinum :)

Trying to re-watch the Olympics Opening Ceremony on the PS3... the only place left to so this is the bbc.co.uk website itself as it's no longer on the iPlayer/BBC Sports App.

But it says 'you do not have the latest version of this software' where the video should be, and it doesn't seem you can update it...

Is there any way to update the PS3 so you can stream website videos?

Is there any way to transfer data from one HDD to another, or do I have to cloud sync the game saves and download all the games and patches again?

You can back up to external USB HDD or transfer data between two seperate ps3s.

Alternatively you could just copy saves yo USB stick i think they just patched do you dont have you dont have to do one at à time as previously!
