Kirkatronics
iam currently downloading anantispy/ad-ware program. but i would like some people to tell me which of these processes are malicious, or unneeded. http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/4131/processgz3.png
The fish
Everything on that list seems fine. However, you're running AVG, which is good, but not the best, so you *could* have a virus or similar somewhere. Again, I recommend Prevx.

Kirkatronics
With Adaware or Prevx? prevx found nothing bit dissapointed at that. but i think ad-aware quaretines them as it finds them.

Hmm, I didn't like their new software. Try the older version (still gets updated, so it should work). You *shouldn't* have to pay.

McPhee
Maybe it didn't reboot :p Wouldn't surprise me if some important Windows files got deleted by accident lol
The fish
Maybe it didn't reboot :p Wouldn't surprise me if some important Windows files got deleted by accident lol Well that must have been Adaware - Prevx would have deleted mine as well, if it was the culprit. system_error
Virus != Adware Adware can be anything from cookies to software and most AntiVirus programms only find software problems. So you need a good combination of Anti Virus/Spam/Adware. Just be sure to only install one for each kind because otherwise you slow down your system and certain software might interfere. Best choice to minimize security threads (assuming you use Windows): - update your Windows copy regularly - use a Firewall (not needed with a good router) - don't download software you don't know or from untrusted sources (just because it says porn.exe doesn't mean you will have fun with it - be a bit paranoid - use a AntiVirus Scanner (I use AVG Free and never had any problems so far) - use a Adware Scanner (Lavasoft, Windows Defender, ...)
