About to leave to school to do my Master presentation in front of a jury. So fucking nervoussssssssss.

I know my project is good and I'll get good grades normally (or so I keep being told by teachers), but I'm still so nervous about it and wondering if I'll do okay.

Almost got my Master degreeeeeeeeee. Ahhhhhhhh.

*runs around frantically*

I do a six mile walk every working day, and that's just to and from. Man up!

Whatever the walk we did was, it took FIVE HOURS. And it was HIKING, through the peaks, with a backpack full of stuff, up and down hills, through forests, over streams/rivers etc.. So either I got the distance wrong (which seems unlikely, since I used GPS) or you really spend five hours of your day walking.

OR you have become an old person who makes outrageous claims that they had to walk ridiculous distances to work every day "back when they were your age, through the snow and storms and world war 2" but actually it was 500ft and they took the bus.

My rope burn still smarts...

Mooched around all day, watching Arrested Development Season 3 (Yes!) and Scary Movie 4 (...), before friend came over. Then he left after Heroclix and Wii, and we might see each other in town tonight, at our respective nights out celebrating people's birthdays.

First day in my new role/job. Myself and two other women started today, going into a team of about 20 men and 1 woman who's our manager. Us 3 n00bs have a room of our own, still right next to the team, but feels a tad cut off and claustrophobic. Thank god for the massive windows. The two women are also awful. One talks constantly about inane and uninteresting things, the other is just generally annoying. I found myself gritting my teeth. This was Day 1 of potentially 5 months. I could actually hear the Geordie Big Brother man in my head as though this small room was some kind of social experiment, designed to test my breaking point.

Slight silver lining is that the work should be ok/more interesting and once we have lots of work to do, they'll hopefully stop talking to me.

Also had a moment when meeting one of the guys in the team, I was thinking ''wow'' and I hope he was. He probably wasn't. But it felt like a moment.

5 Days of work left.

One day is England game so lol @ won't work for 2 hours.

One day we leave an hour early.

One day is the last day and I doubt anyone will do anything.

I won a Luxeed keyboard on eBay used but "as new" for £43ish. Very happy.

To say the last 24 hours have been difficult on me would be an understatement. It seems as though my life is destined to be an ever rolling series of repeats, year after year. Last year, my brother's cat died and that was rough. Yesterday, after knowing something was wrong my mother told me what was wrong with my cat as she had taken her to the vets and not told me. Turns out she had a tumour. No way was she being left there, so she was brought home and made comfortable and I was told the bad news. So after 14 years of having her, Heidi, my cat, passed away during the night. 14 years is a long time (over half of my life anyway) and just a combination of old age and illness got to her in the end. No emoticon nor words can really describe how crap I feel about it at the moment. Owning a pet that long, they become more than pets and it kind of feels like I've lost a member of the family and a best friend, as silly as that might sound.

So with that bombshell being dropped in the morning, I basically needed to get away from the house. So I bussed it into Edinburgh and trying not to break down on the bus was difficult. Bought myself a new Xbox while there and for some reason, I found it difficult to work the turnstile things at the toilets in several places (the ones where you have to pay like 30p to use). Had to pay several times with one as I was carrying several bags and I couldn't get through the damned thing.

Urgh... kinda lost for words on today really. Everyone in the house is acting like nothing has happened, I'm a wreck and need a soul to talk to and I really don't know why the hell I'm even posting this. Happy first day of the summer solstice everyone.... :nono:

Yay Eenuh! :bouncy:

My weekend was excellent. Apart from England losing on Friday but I wasn't too fussed. :p (Paraguay ftw) I also had a good shopping trip with my mum and sister well in the sense of purchasing things it was bit of a dead loss but Pizza Hut buffet was nice. :)

Then on the saturday I spent most of the day playing the Wii with my nephew. He really enjoyed playing Super Mario Galaxy 2 and we also went out to get a passport photo for baby nephew which was funny!

He is a happy baby. :D he just lies there content with life!

Oh and in the evening My sister, nephew and I played Wii Sports which was funny, he got so excited that the Wiimote flew into the wall and then it turns out he played the winning shot with that.

In the evening I went to a quiz night with my parents which was hilarious! The quiz master was some oldman and useless at pronouncing things and insisted on having questions in which he had to say french words, halfway through he started singing which set me off in an extreme burst of laughter while it was quiet and it echoed round the room...

Bemused he was like "Would you like me to repeat it?" I shouted "YES DEFINITELY YES!" and burst into more laughter upon his second rendition.

Then yesterday more Wii with the nephew and then Paraguay was on and they beat slovakia 2-0 making them top of the group! I missed the goals though. :heh: Those were the only two points I left the match for a few minutes, typical!

Then we had a delicious BBQ with the standard meats (forgot to defrost the prawns) and I set off for work which wasn't to busy and I stayed a bit longer so get a bit more money.

TODAY! I went out to London with my friend bought Miley Cyrus Deluxe Edition and went on a massive trek around London in the sun which ended up in an epic quest for a Pear since I got a bad craving for one. :p

I'm sure a lot of you are aware from my previous posts that I've been going through a particularly difficult time recently :hmm:

After some talking this evening, I guess we (yes.. we) may as well let you know what is going on.. if you hadn't already guessed. Catherine and I (or MBAM and / nando / as you will know us..) are no longer engaged. It is therefore no surprise that there have been a lot of emotions to deal with in recent weeks and none of it has been easy

I won't go into details, but there is still an awful lot of love between us and, whatever the situation, we are best friends and we still want to be a part of each other's lives.. and it would be too difficult to imagine it any other way! She's an amazing girl

Well, it's nice to hear you're both being quite the adults!

Sorry to hear about everything Ganepark :(

And also nando (and buttons too of course). Can't say I have any way of knowing what it must be like but I can only imagine its really tough.

A 6-mile walk through urban terrain takes about 2 hours. That's why ashley looks so anorexic.

Awesome metabolism helps too!

I google maps'd my walk and it was more like 4.2 miles each way so nya :heh:

Which is the length of my there and back, which takes me an hour (in total) :p

I think we're in the same boat (or yellow submarine or whatever your preferred nautical method of transport is). The kitchen/tills staff have the most inane lives filled with petty dramas that they feel like EXCLAIMING! at the top of their voices in the fucking irritating Yam Yam accent. Seriously, its a crime against humanity!

I'm sure he had a moment. Who doesn't have a moment meeting you eh Mollymon?

Work was eh. First close. Some people were acting like it was rocket science. Its just sweeping and mopping! I think I can do that thanks... Once again faces of incredulity when I ordered a salad. Then I was told I wouldn't stay vegetarian if I worked there. I don't think ten years meatlessness is going to be shot down by shitty burgers thanks.

At the end I got changed and went to clock out and the supervisor said I should have asked first and clocked out before getting changed. She was nice enough about it but had me thinking; I've not had to answer to anyone for three years. Urgh.

September please?

Sorry to hear about you both (nando + buttons). I havn't been through what you are going through, and like Ashley i can only imagine to be fair.

Also, sorry to hear about your cat Ganepark, losing a family pet is always hard especially if it's been in the family for years. Like the dog we had before the one that wrecked the place (1st family dog), it was hard on us all. Not as much me as i had a fear of it since it bit me several times when i was 3.

Anywho

Not 100% sure on how this "loan" period is going to work in work. Apparanly one person needs me 3 days in the centre, another needs me 3 days in the office and on days where the senior member comes in and we need to keep an eye on him (he's 86). It works out roughly, not exactly that 3 days will be 1/2 in office and 1/2 in centre.

Sorry to hear about your cat, Ganepark. I completely understand the relationship one can develop with one's cat, being a cat person myself.

Also, I'm very sorry to hear about you and Buttons, Nando. I kind of figured (and I think we all did) that it had something to do with your relationship. Love is pretty much the only emotion to cause such sadness in a person. I'm glad the two of you are still good friends, though, and I hope you will find the most fitting spot in each other's lives.

I'm sorry for your loss Ganepark :( I too know how painful it can be to lose a pet as I'm sure many members here do, it's never easy to start with but just remember that you gave Heidi the best possible life she could have had and try and be happy in that knowledge.

I'm also sorry to hear about you and Buttons / nando / but it's good that you are both still talking and in each others lives, I won't ask you to go into details, none of us would, but for whatever reason it happened at least you both seem to be moving forward in a semi-positive way, even if it might not initially seem like that, I wish the best for both of you though as quite honestly you're two of the nicest people that I've had the privilege of meeting. :)

Indeed I was very privileged to meet all of you who attended the meet last year while we're on the subject so I just wanted to say a 'thank you' once more even though I'm sure I did at the time... in any case, long live N-E! :D
