Molly if they don't give you the job feed ReZ full of E-numbers and lock them in a room with him!

A fate I wouldn't even wish on my worst enemies.

Found out I might be going to London twice this summer! Whooo! Going once with Jim to the N-E meet, and then less than a month later I might go with my parents haha. Instead of going to Spain (since tickets are too expensive), they want to visit London, and they asked me along. Score! =D

Also just updated my blog with four illustrations. I've been touching up my linocuts all day. Still need to make a few more though. And do typography and all that. But I'm pretty happy with the images I posted. Less happy about the ones I didn't post. =P

Thanks, people. :)

Don't worry, Raining, you can always come to us. We're for the same. :heh:

Go for the arm thing, Dan. You can always joke about it if things go wrong.

Huzzah!

Survived the tornado (well, it was a couple miles away and tore through town) and survived without power for 2 days. Lots of damage, and lots of tornadoes through a few states. One went through a school actually, and also managed to kill the Valedictorian's Father.

- turns out that apparantly there's some scavvy 14 year old kid that has been frequently passing by our house just to steal the fag-ends I throw away when I smoke. he's been suspected in teh past, but today my housemate witnessed the kid rife through the disposed butts, compile a 'best of' rollie and then proceed to wait RIGHT BY MY FRONT DOOR with it, presumably for me to go out for a cigarette as he didn't have a lighter. If you'd seen my front door you'd know how weird/creepy it'd be if he just waited outside. Just hte other side of teh wall. ugh!

My current sheffield/brighton 'drama' (that only I care about) has shifted towards staying in sheff. A mate, who is autistic and frankly stressful to be around for prolongued periods of time, has said he needs a place in sheff at the same time as me -- so i was all "yay, two-bed flat, cool, sweet, a return to form - familiar and friendly settings" etc, etc... then i get a text from him the other day saying, effectively, he's bumped into to random people that he once met at a rave, and they wany somehwere new to live, so he's assumed I'm cool with it and has told them all about me and our POSSIBLE plan to move in/look for a place. Then TONIGHT I get a text saying tomorrow night we're all meeting to discuss housing options. I'm all WTF as I just spent a year living with strangers and tbh I just want to sit in my room and be comfortable SO FUCK YOU STRANGERS!

I also spent the day watching Kenny Vs. Spenny s06, the last ep of Breaking Bad (s03e12 -- Sooo good -- good enough, in fact, for me to go straight on amazon and order a copy of the first season to be sent to my dad as he HAS to watch it. YOU ALL DO. It's too good at the shocking drama), and now working my way through s01 of True Blood before finally succumbing to the night. Got up at 7am this morning after 3 hours sleep so I've been pushing it all day

TEE ELL DEE ARR:

Your mother prefers it to-the-point, too.

Home interview?

Well tidiness is important - mainly the lounge, kitchen and bathroom. Make sure there's a kettle and some mugs ready.

You'll need to have a table to sit at. A kitchen/dining room one would be fine, but I would guess that a coffee table in the lounge with a chair(s) and/or sofa(s) at a 90 degree angle to each other would be ideal (if it's possible).

Oh, and make sure that everyone else is out.

Note: These are just tips based on what I would expect an employer to like to see. We work we have a two-sofa/coffee table set up in a room just for meetings and stuff. It's formal but not too formal.

Still considering the cancellings. I am half tempted to just make something up and sit on the decking outside. That way there will be no casing the joint.

Also, it's this place:

Home interviews aside, has anyone had dealings with this site/people?

Doesn't look good. Nabbed from this 'to the point' guy.

Hmm...

Could you not go back to college/uni itself to do it? I can't remember when you're from but I looked around Futureworks a while ago and was quite impressed with how it was run.

And Jay that is a creepy thought (that kid hanging around outside your house).

I looked at them once and they seemed pretty iffy. This quote from them:

and argued the case as to why we are not a scam.

Kind of screams out "All the complaints are valid, but due to something written in tiny print it means that it's not a scam."

Didn't get it. An email, the wimp's way out. I've come home and taken half a day's holiday. Want to get straight on with another application. And be upset on my own. Apparently other people had more experience and my answers weren't concise enough. So I have something to work on.

Not looking for sympathy. Just thought I'd update, as I mentioned it yesterday.

E-Mail responses are indeed a cowards way out. I hate them.

Felt horrible last night, missed a friend's birthday night out which was annoying. Off college today (technically would be working at home mostly anyway, but at this ay I slept until 1 instead of having to go in and show them what I've done).

A whole bunch of graphic novels I ordered came this morning though, so I'm tres happy on that front. :)

It depends on how your day-to-day life goes. As they say do a bit each day and immersion helps (an excuse to watch French cinema!). I'm trying to catch up on my Japanese a bit lately so I'm juggling between podcasts (I like the japanesepod101.com one and I think they do a French equivalent), a textbook, online testing tool things and watching Japanese films/tv. When I move to London I hope to carry on with Italian again and one of my friends is talking about learning French so I'll piggyback off that. But little things help can help. For example if you want to learn 10 words a day (for example, obviously grammar rules etc are useful too) then write those ten words down on a sticky note and have it stuck on your computer. Test yourself throughout the day etc.

Looking in Personal and Careers Development Loan. Got the leaflets a while ago so I rang up Co-Operative bank to get some figures and she said she didn't know -_- So I think I may go to Birmingham tomorrow and check in the branch, and in the Barclays. Yay for further debts!

Hmmmm not happyyyy. Teacher pretty much told me today to add in extra pages to my book. So instead of 3-4 lino cuts, I now have to do at least six. In two days. He's asking me to do the impossible. =(

Plus I'm all out of inspiration for these. I don't even know what to put on the cover, merfffff.

I filled in an application form for the university counselling service over email, and I spent 2 hours just writing everything down. It was therapeutic in itself but also the most depressing thing I've ever done in my life.

It's fine to just say "I'm OK" and get on with life, but then when you start pulling at the strings by questioning whether you are actually OK, you begin to unravel everything and realise there's so much fucked up stuff about.

I just wish I could take the blue pill and wake up and not ever think about anything and be happy.

I feel the same! It's very easy to "cover up the cracks" to get on with life and such, so much you actually almost forget how shit you feel half of the time =P

Don't give up, you have friends. You did the right thing doing something about it!
